I had always figured the tanker would be kind of hollow from the other side but this is really kind of sad to see.

I'm pretty sure that courtyard is staying as-is, if the plans on the water management site are to be believed

So Kong started going vertical around October 2014, assuming a June 2016 opening, if this takes a similar amount of time and it goes vertical in about 2 months, we would be looking at very late 2017... Which is pretty much what everyone's said already. Ah well, looks like it's up to Fallon and VB to keep me entertained in 2017, not that I'm complaining

I know way less about this project than I do/did with Kong, so this is just a guess, but I could see this taking significantly less time. No animatronics, no huge facade to build since SF's existing ones will be re-purposed, and a ride system that will be up and running at the resort in a few months.

Why are there so many unknowns on this project? Many round here seem so in tune with what's happening at a Universal yet this project remains a great unknown on here...

Well, it is a rather shallow IP. Trucks, Guns, bad dialog. In short, something popular with Trump supporters.
