The major foodie destinations in Orlando are Ravenous Pig and Cask and Larder gastropubs in Winter Park and 4 Rivers Smokehouse. Bull and Bear at The Waldorf is one of the finest steakhouses I have ever eaten at, but it is pricey. Think >Ruth's Chis. UOR has 2 GREAT restaurants in BiCE at Portofino Bay and Palm Restaurant in The Hard Rock Hotel. And Hash House a go go on I-Drive has one of the best Breakfasts in town.

Here is a good article with some suggestions.

Let me just give a shout out to Chatham's Place. Their fish was delectable, my wife had a very good pasta special, and there wine selection hit the spot perfectly. I highly recommend them.

I agree, I love the direction they are going with the unique new Citywalk offerings. Really just depends on my budget on where im eating on a particular trips. Im not knocking down the McDonalds idea, it is what it is, but with so many other unique offerings in Orlando I wouldn't recommend it even with the all mighty pinball machine

Oh no I definitely agree, it's a fun place to go but not a top priority in any sense of the word. I love all the restaurants I'm hearing about here and I gotta check them out instead of Wendy's the next time I go to orlando, hopefully I'll find a pinball machine there too. Oh yeah and I just looked it up, there is a bowling alley at that McDonald's too lol

Yeah it's pathetic but still cool, that Mac tonight AA though makes it for me. For those who don't know he was like the new happy meal mascot of the last generation. Terrifying

Charley's Subs in the Florida Mall is honestly my favorite sandwich in Florida...as far as I know, its the only Charley's in Central Florida, so it sucks that you have to go to the Florida Mall to get it, but it is so worth it.

Victoria and Albert's is also great, very deserving of its hype and accolades, but its a slow and different sort of dining experience.

I also really used to like Cariera's in the Dr Phillips Marketplace but apparently theyre now under new management and the food quality has taken a dip.

The most recent notable dining experience I had was at The Grill at Marriott's Grande Vista...its set up like a restaurant in a country club but is not that expensive and the food was great...also had nice views of the expansive golf course.

Also, am I the only person who thinks 4 Rivers is ridiculously overrated?

My personal favorite restaurants in Orlando, and yes they happen to both be on Universal property, are Mythos and Emeril's Tchoup Chop. Consistently great meals and service every time.

Ok can someone who's been to the worlds largest mcdonalds back me up here? It's super cool for the novelty factor alone....and it has pinball

It is NOT the worlds largest McDonalds. I will agree though there is a nice novelty factor to it, especially if your a McDonalds fan.I managed to get a picture with Grimace once. The also have a Mac Tonight animatronic, although I have never seen it working.

As for a food option, no unless you just have a craving for some McDonalds.

4 Rivers is consistently pretty good. Lots of good stuff and only really had food that was mediocre there once. I can't wait until the one near me is open, driving down to SkyCraft just isn't worth it for the distance and traffic, plus there would be absolutely no way I could beat the lunch rush unless I left super early

Your not alone. 4 Rivers is great for the sides, but for barbecue they're not that great.

it worked for me and it was insanely ghetto but nostalgic. LOL grimace, I love that they have birthday parties there. Normally going to a mcdonalds on your birthday would suck but this is a exception....if you are under 7 years old that is

It is funny because the actual restaurant is the same size as most of 'em, it's just got the worlds largest addition on a McDonald's. It's the Playplace that's the worlds largest, they coin it as "World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's & PlayPlace". And another funny thing is that World's largest Checker's across the street (not sure if still largest), it's just a real building that's a little bit bigger than the regular pre-fabricated ones (all same size lol).

But I agree that even though they have a special menu at that McDonald's it is still just a fast food place.

The Checkers is quite a bit bigger than a normal one and used to have a decent sized arcade in it. When I worked at the Convention Center I ate their quite often, even though it was scuzzy as hell

If you like Sushi I swear by Sushiology. They only have 3 tables, so I recommend to grab it to go, but it is phenomenal sushi and a pretty decent price for the amount of food you get.

For whatever reason if you end up in the downtown area I recommend Pom Pom's tea house. Absolutely amazing sandwiches.

As far as good Hibachi goes I recommend the Florida chain of Kobe's. It's a bit pricey, as Japanese tends to be, but it's some great food.

Best steak I've had, as far as Central Florida goes is Johnny's Hideaway. It's located at the Crossroads and is one of the best steakhouses I've been to. My parents have eaten at Shula's and Johnny's and they prefer Johnny's.
