I think that is literally a new bulb needed!
Fun fact: Way back, movie theater projectors were lit with welding style rods and no bulbs at all. Many were still in use in the 1970's.

I would imagine that would be very unlikely. A ride that is unsafe or has desperately needed maintenance issues would have to shut down, contract or no contract.Might it be possible that it cannot be shut down for an extended period contractually? They have obviously continued to diddle with it over time.
A ride that is unsafe
Rumor has it that they are adding a giant santa hat to the dragon. In an interesting light, from OI; they are reporting that there will be a refurbishment going on starting in December.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey set for refurbishment
Rumor has it that they are adding a giant santa hat to the dragon.
Thinking about it, that is probably why the refurbishment is happening. They can't just take it out for a bit like the dragon, so they would need to close the whole ride.If we're refurbing, can we go ahead and add some element of movement back to that first whomping willow limb? It's so obviously lacking since they took out its motion.

OI says they heard no 3D is being added. From what it seems like on Twitter, the refurb will be the refurbishment that adds the 3D.

Bring on the 3d please.
Eh, December 1-18 is actually fairly slow to normal crowds. Things start to pick up with "Big League" crowds right around the 3rd week of the month, which just happens to be the 18th or so. School's are still in session up until that time. It the last 2 week's of the month that are always packed from experience working in the parks. So, the rumor is that they will take down the attraction during the height of the holidays? That doesn't make sense at all.
