Wait.. I just realized something... If Comcast goes through with the merger of Time Warner (which let's face it... money talks... it will), Comcast would also own Warner Bros... meaning they would also hold rights to IP like Godzilla, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, and DC Comics... there would be limitless IP to work with.

I for one don't care for the Godzilla movies. Sure if I was 12 I would watch whatever popcorn summer blockbuster movie with a monster, screaming people and explosions I could get my hands on. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want to ride the ride. I don't care about Marvel but Spiderman is my favourite ride and I'm looking forward to ride Transformers although I hate those movies.
That said I don't think Godzilla would be a good fit for the Orlando Resort. They already have giant robots, big dino's and soon a big ape. Even terminator got a gigantic robot in it and Potter got Dragon's. I think the big movie monsters are well represented at the resort and Godzilla will be redundant imho.
Universal will be getting more and more Disney guests in their park and I think the park would be better served if they would focus on that demographic for a few rides to pull them away from Potter a bit. Sure it's not exciting but it would serve the resort and it's future best.

like the Mymagic+ crowd. no, But if they do Godzilla, i'll be happy but if they don't and do F&F because 2 are high possibilites i'm fine by it. and also, don't they need a Monster leader.. Kong isn't all that much besides being the 8th wonder but Godzilla is THE king and he could be the leader. If he comes, all the monsters will be scared crapless. :focus: But yea, we'll see..

God someone needs to make a universal fighting game with all the characters from the rides. I mean who wouldn't want to see megatron take down the cat in the hat?

Since summer for me starts next Wednesday, I'm planning on making some rough concept art for what I think would be cool ideas Universal could do for a Godzilla themed attraction :sneaky:

Sounds awesome, can't wait. Original idea or overlay of a existing attraction?

I think that Universal has enough testosterone "giant" monster/robot/creature rides. With Transformers (hate it), Potter (love it) and King Kong (excited for it).........they need a "slower" people eater ride that the entire family from 4 to 104 can enjoy. Something with a ride system that allows everyone to ride it......but still has high quality and immersive visuals and effects that Universal has become known for. Maybe a ride like this is coming to Kids Zone or Seuss?

I agree the giant monsters are VERY prominent at the parks. You didn't even mention JP, T2, dragons, shrek and twister (finger of god) I think if they did it for disaster it would be a hogwarts express kinda deal. No high restriction but will probably scare children. It'll be a great family ride though and that's what they need. But you are definitely right, after this I don't want to see another giant monster at universal again, this just gets a exeption because he's the king

I would be OK with a Universal "classic" monsters ride. Would love to see a Monster Mansion dark ride.

That's when My Little Pony, Hello Kitty, SpongeBob and Pokemon come in :P not the last one, but still... I'm expecting Seuss AND KidZone to get an all-ages, lap-sitting dark ride. E.T. is 34", while Cat doesn't allow lap-sitting.

I also think Shrek and Lucy could be replaced with a Great Movie Ride of sorts (people-eating, multi-level Omnimover-esque ride?)

The kids will get their rides soon enough. I think Godzilla would be a perfect family ride though because of no high restriction and while it might be loud and scary I'm sure kids could take it. If universal makes a bunch of rides without a high restriction my biggest hope is that they will be rides the whole family would enjoy too. No rides where the parents would feel like they were "dragged onto". Something as immersive as Spider-Man but not as hectic, you guys get what I'm saying?

If that were the case we'd have a half Simpsons and half BTTF building. "It would be a easy change!!!" Lol
