Because everything's got to be a Universe now

Kong definitely ties in more than a bit. They're about to have a whole movie where he's 50% of the draw. It may not be a vast, MCU-level universe, but there are carryover characters and converging story threads that are all coming to a head in this next movie. It's a standard cinematic universe template. They've been building to this 'Endgame' with each movie. The amount of Kong hints in King of the Monsters should have made it evident that Kong ties in more than a bit. After all, the sole reason they made this iteration of Kong hundreds of feet tall is to be able to square up with Godzilla.

I truly hope they learned their lesson from King of the Monsters. Legitimately one of the most confusing movies ever. Such a great cast, but literally anytime it was only humans on the screen it was filled with cringy dialogue and plot decisions that were seemingly done via coin flip. A lot of action movies have the "character sacrifices themselves to save the day" cliché, but KotM literally does it twice. I could rant about the human scenes in that flick all day. The kaiju action was superb though.

I equate it to one of the sloppiest attempts at world building we've ever seen. They knew they were gonna have to force several plot points into our brains before they got to make their endgame, and by Jove they did.

Meh. I've seen every Godzilla movie multiple times, and own most of them on Blu Ray. Anyone looking for more depth than a Saturday morning cartoon out of the human stories is always going to be sadly disappointed. There's only 1 that definitely rises above that (the original Japanese film) and maybe one more (SHIN GODZILLA). The rest are all goofy romps about a giant lizard fighting other giant monsters in professional wrestling matches.

KING OF THE MONSTERS is still better than most. As a fan of the franchise, I was incredibly happy with it.

Shin Godzilla was as close to a masterpiece as they could get IMO.

But I do question my own opinion sometimes, as I wholeheartedly and almost unironically love the Roland Emmerich Godzilla.

I said almost unironically ;) It's one of those so-bad-it's-good flicks, and the nostalgia feelz hit pretty hard 20 years down the road.
Also, this line is never not fun at SeaWorld:

I mean it just looks dope but the tone felt so off all around for me, I’ll be watching though. Wish I was in a theatre for it

Feels a bit like a cross between Godzilla & the first Pacific Rim movie.

Definitely would want to see this in a theatre rather than streaming.

I usually never watch trailers multiple times....I’ve watched this 6 times already. I’m no fan of hip-hop/rap but the music jacked me up. Just hoping it carves it’s own path and isn’t as bloated (or visually confusing) as King of the Monsters. So far it looks promising though.

Well I'm in, but then I enjoyed Godzilla KOTM, Kong SI and the first Pacific Rim immensely

I just hope I can find an open Theatre in March...

I thought we needed a little whine to go with the cheese of that last shot.

This feels like a movie that needs to be watched in a cinema. It would be kind of unexpected if this was the first movie in cinemas that drew big crowds.

This definitely feels like a cinematic experience. I'm still expecting it to suck based the first movie though. Then again, the whole "monster action-genre" has always been one of my least favorites.

I’m glad they moved this up and I’ll be glad to watch it in a cinema. In fact, I’ll probably order my ticket soon. I don’t like how they gave away something big within the first 10 seconds of the trailer.
