Following the announcement of the permanent closure of F&F Supercharged, I felt a mix of sadness and excitement. I was one of the few who didn’t hate Supercharged, although I agree it was boring and odd.

There are a ton of great rumors out there for what is going to fill the space and while I wouldn’t mind a re-imagined Jaws attraction, the only real option should be The Knight Bus.

Before you “ugh please, enough Harry Potter!”, understand that I’m fully aware there are a lot of Harry Potter attractions …. At Islands. But at Studios, there’s one. After you’ve gone on Gringotts (easily one of my top 5 favorite rides), had a butterbeer, and visited the shops, you’re done and most people leave if they aren’t having a meal at Leaky Cauldron. People would stay and spend more time if there was even one more attraction, and the infrastructure is already mostly in place for a bus-style ride. Also- ending the ride right near the Leaky Cauldron and adding a second entry into Diagon (that you can only access from exiting the ride) would be super fun.

Here’s hoping!

I cannot see that happening. There's no way to connect Supercharged to Diagon Alley like you described. The path would be blocked by the Hogwarts Express and two access roads. I also don't see them retheming San Francisco to London. Diagon Alley already has great shopping and dining capacity, and stretching it out that far across the park would be unnecessary. If USF ever gets any further Potter expansion, it would probably be in the plot of land where the Fear Factor stage sits now.

You'd have to tunnel it which is, while not impossible, so wildly inconvenient for a temporary change that they won't do it.

They should bring back an old Universal IP for this ride. That's right: Murder She Wrote.

We are not family, good riddance lol.

If it's not re-purposed for the new coaster. Time for an actual good attraction there. They've gotten rid of so many cool attractions Universal Orlando, time for a comeback.

Let's just say, I am curious to see what UC has cooked up for this plot of land. They know that after Supercharged, they need to bring their A Game.

Why am I hesitant to believe that they actually will? I think the large slate of cheap and quick rethemes USF has seen over the past decade has me thinking UDX would rather budget yet again rather than go for another FJ, Hagrids, Unchained-tier ride.

Honestly, the BTTF retheme concept has increasingly lost its' luster to me, but has also seemed almost inevitable. The IP and the location within the park deserve better than a reused party bus, but the ride system isn't very old and the on-ride screen videos are relatively easy to swap.

Bus themed to train for BTTF could work. Just move the BTTF locomotive across the lake to the attraction entrance as an icon.

I’m so so sooooo sorry to suggest this idea but just expand London already and make this a Knight Bus ride and carry on. It’s inevitable for a Potter expansion so just do it and do it quickly.

Just turn it into universal through the ages. The garage queue just converts to storage where they can place a bunch of props and then just convert the inside to screens plus physical pieces of big movies. You’re welcome.

I would be a lot more excited if this was closing early to get a jump start on a permanent replacement instead of as a cost-cutting measure.

But obviously, good riddance to the worst thing Universal's ever done in the Orlando parks.

It’s not even the worst ride in the Studios today. It’s not even the SECOND worst!

Heck, it’s not the worst attraction currently being closed and demolished at Universal Florida! (Well, it’s not closed yet, but shortly).

It’s the worst by a wide margin IMO, and I hate Villain Con.

This is quite a take. What do you think is worse than Supercharged?

I could maybe give you Minion Blast if I was really drunk while "riding" it. Maybe. And I was unable to stand on my dot. Maaaybe. But what else?

Don't you dare say Fallon! :lmao:  :lmao:

Long time lurker finally posting

My heart says Jaws as Superchargeds replacement and a part of my brain agrees with the Jaws theming in the summer for the past two years but it’s probably gonna be BTTF or Knight Bus since that would be the easier way out. Universal has shown to be moving on from making screens their be all end all though so I hope most of the my brain ends up being wrong

VillainCon is definitely a worse attraction experience, but at least it only replaced Shrek 4D (disclaimer: I have no memory of Hitchcock). I find F&F to be enjoyably bad but it did replace both Disaster and Beetlejuice. As purely a ride experience I enjoy Fallon less than F&F, but more than VillainCon, and the non-ride parts are pretty good. So it’s complicated for me.

To be honest, I'm somewhat saddened by the vitriol in this thread. I've literally had some one of the best experiences ever at Universal Orlando within that space, like the time I waited in line for a walkthrough of a demented candy factory, a gauntlet of various Jason Vorhees, or Ethan Hawke's analog phone dungeon...

You're all just haters.

I too would love Jaws...but only if the ride vehicle was a boat...and there was real water...and animatronics...and not an over-reliance on screens...but I'm not sure that's possible in the current space unless they completely demolish and start over.

Honestly - USO needs more outdoor rides so demolish it and put up Jaws. I know it won’t happen, but screw it a man can dream.

I wonder what a Jaws ride would look like today: somehow I think ‘blast the shark with a shotgun’ ain’t it. Which leaves either ‘gaze in awe’ à la Kong or ‘run away and escape’ more akin to JPRA. The second option feels a bit been-there-done-that but it suits the film more than the first option.

Either way, gentle reminder that UC just patented various systems for faking water using a hovering fog effect…
