Weird how the trailer doesn't show a release date.... (I'm guessing around Fall 2012 - Spring 2013).

Thanks to an anonymous tipster we’ve got our hands on what could prove to be detailed information on Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5, GTA V). Whether it is true or not we’ll have to wait and see, so take this as a rumor, but so far the information provided doesn’t seem to be all that far out there.

According to the person behind this information they have an NDA with Rockstar which they have obviously decided to violate. Again this is rumor although could prove to be true in the future. Some of these bullet points might be considered to be spoilers. The quote below is SIC.​

• The protagonist is Hispanic and his name is Adrian
• It takes place in San Andreas in the year 2012. The Mayan end of the world thing is parodied a lot because of this.
• You start out in Los Santos and are in your rivals turf. Varrios Los Aztecas after getting beat up and robbed
• The game revolves around money in a big deal. I’d reveal the big idea but I don’t want to ruin it.
• Multiplayer is in again. There are a couple of new game modes, co-op story and 32 player game modes for consoles and 64 player for PC, PC also includes dedicated servers
• Pc comes out on launch and is being ported by Leeds. From what they’ve shown us it is optimized much better than GTA 4
• San Andreas includes all the same cities from GTA SA and this time they have all become a bit bigger as well as much more detailed.
• Gang turk wars are back. This time not only the general gang are in charge but different sets such as 57th Ballas or the Eastside Azteca. The have their own graffiti. You can tag up stuff with custom sprays too.
• In the end your protag dies once again just like in RDR. Afterwards you play as his brother who inherits the money.
• “The Money” I refer to comes from a massive drug trade that ****s to San Andreas. It is fought over a lot throughout the story and it comes with lots of money. It has ties to your family so it becomes a bigger deal.
• The timeline continues off of GTA 4. It is reference a lot. I’m not really sure whether Niko dies but he’s mentioned at least twice.
• Car modding is back so is lowriding of course.
• There are 9 radio stations. It features a range of music. Some of the rap is new, some is old. There’s a better selection than GTA4 though IMO.
• Military has returned in the 5 star wanted level except they are referred to as the National Guard.
• Cover system is upgraded and players more smoothly
• The moral decisions you saw in GTA 4 have more effect on the story now. There are a total of 4 unique endings 2 bad, 2 good. Whether protag dies in all of them you’ll just have to figure out since the endings are actually pretty cool.
• More girlfriends
• Parachutes
• Fun cheats are back!

Just being honest, I'm not impressed and looks to be non innovative and repetitive. I hope im wrong but Rockstar IMO has lost its edge.

When I purchased my PS2 I was late to the party so to say and the first game I got was GTA Vice City. To this day I still think its the best GTA out there. I was so stoked to play San Andreas and once I did I just became bored with it after about 15-20 hours of gameplay. It was basically the exact same game with useless tasky objectives that were completely pointless. Much of the game was unnecessary and had far to much "filler." I figured ok well they can't all be great so whatever. They GTA IV came out for PS3, and yes I was there for the midnight opening. Got it home loved it, for the first 10-15 hours of gameplay. Then well what can I say it was the same damn game all over again just much nicer looking. I mean the graphics and storyline were improved but the mechanics and gameplay were horrendous for what I expected to be the next level of gameplay. What the heck was with the camera view system?

For those who remember playing GTAIII when it first came out for PS2, you know the game took free world gaming in a new direction much like Mario 64 did the same a few years before it. I just expected so much more from GTA4 for being on PS3 besides cool graphics. As for the storylines in all the games, whats really changed aside either hell bent on revenge or trying to take over the world?

This is basically exactly how I feel about the GTA franchise. Same game with a different paint job.

While I partially disagree for a number of reasons, I'm not really in the mood to argue right now (and arguing won't really take us anywhere). So whatever, "Different Strokes, Different Minds" I guess... :blank:






So anyways, did anybody notice the dog at the beginning of the trailer? Looks like we might have animals in the game like we had in Red Dead Redemption, maybe we'll have bears and wolves hanging out in the forest areas too?

I never noticed that before. I'm going to feel so bad if I accidently kill a dog. Which is really backwards because the game centers around killing people...

Well, At least they're not adding children in the game.... :look: (They actually originally had kids in GTA III during development, but it was later removed, along with a couple of other things... after 9/11 happened.)

Grand Theft Auto 5 Protagonist is Allegedly This Guy

On Twitter, multiple people have apparently spilled the beans on who's playing Grand Theft Auto 5's protagonist: actor Ned Luke.

According to sources, GTA V's unnamed character and actor Ned Luke not only look similar, but have the same voice.

Twitter's frequently a good source for a lot of information that probably isn't supposed to be spread. And now, it appears as though the voice and likeness of Grand Theft Auto V's lead character has been revealed on the social media network, as a report on OPM UK discovers.

Several people -- including other actors -- are claiming that GTA V's protagonist is Hollywood actor, Ned Luke. Actor Jimmy Taenaka Tweets "My fellow thespian Ned Luke as the voice and profile in the upcoming game by Rockstar Grand Theft Auto 5! Way to go Ned! Holy Molly!" Luke's cousin, Rebecca Halls, also Tweets "Lol just heard the trailer and all I could do was laugh. Weird hearing my cousin's voice on here."

None of this has been confirmed by Rockstar, but Luke does look a lot like the character depicted in the GTA V trailer.

GTA V details due in a few months says Rockstar


The teaser trailer released at the tail end of last year has thoroughly caught the imagination of series fans and now Rockstar has promised that the next few months will see them announce more details on the long awaited sequel.

They said in a Q&A session for Max Payne, "First of all, we'd like to again thank you and everyone out there for the amazing response to the debut Grand Theft Auto V trailer. We know that there are a ton of questions you all have about the game, including release date and lots else. Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses - expect that we'll be talking much more about GTA V starting at some point in a few months' time. Please hang tight until then and thank you all for your patience and support!"

Based on Rockstar's recent form, GTA V would probably be released between March and May of 2013, although many analysts expect the title to make the Christmas releases for 2012. For now though they are concentrating on Max Payne 3 which is due for release in May.

Well for starters it could not be set in a hallow city, the missions could actually be interesting, and it could not be the exact same game made over and over.

I'm guessing you only played the games for like, one hour.... by yeah, I can agree that there should be more missions that are memorable and exciting rather than theres's actually only like maybe 5-10 missions that are very good and almost everything else is mostly just filler.

Hey, at least its not like the COD games where they don't alter the graphics and engine, and Rockstar isn't choosing quantity over quality by releasing the games every year. Besides, they said that they would NEVER do that do any of their games since they believe they would lose quality. So at least give them some goddamn credit for that.

-There needs to be more weapons, the amount of weapons in GTA IV was pretty small compared to San Andreas, hope we'll get stuff like flamethrowers and

-Bring back the fun cheats! The cheats in GTA IV were very simple and pathetic compared to GTA: San Andreas. Come on, flying cars? Infinite Health/ammo? Pimp mode? Flying boats? Bring those back!

-Needs more vehicles to drive, put some planes and more helicopters and more types of cars too!

Already finished Red Dead Redemption a while ago, great game IMO, the story was very good, not too jumpy, slow paced, and/or unfocused or anything like that as you might have thought about the GTA games, and the only kind of "escort" missions were only side missions that be done separately at anytime during the game. I also found plenty of stuff to do in the world, such as hunting animals and the activity mini-games, I hope GTA V will be more like that in terms of stuff to do in the open world.

Oh it certainly does. Call of Duty, especially. But you asked what others wanted, and I stated what I wanted. I realize it sounded harsh -- and it was -- but I still stand by it. Sandbox games are one of my least favorite genres because they all feel so amazingly unnecessarily huge. Especially when it's set in a city.
