Was announced awhile ago, but the details just came out and boy are they wild...

After saving their world from certain destruction, Peter Quill—a.k.a. Star Lord—brokered a deal with Nova Prime and the Xandarian government to bring an outreach program to his home planet. The purpose? To share Xandar’s rich heritage and culture with Earth’s people.

As luck would have it, Peter informed Xandar’s leaders that there’s already a place on Earth with a similar mission… a theme park called Epcot, where all of Earth’s cultures are celebrated. So, as part of their first outreach, Xandar has sent some of their most talented performers to showcase their music!

So yeah, this thing is actually probably be decent as an offering because the GotG movies have great music, but boy are they stretching that story. Like, whoa.

Also, that first sentence hasn't aged well in the GotG franchise considering what Star-Lord did in Infinity War.

Question is what will the music be since it’s Xandar music.
That's an interesting point, but the fact that we're even talking about music from a fictional planet in a Marvel film being basically the new summer concert series at Epcot is pretty ridiculous and shows how far the park has fallen.

EDIT:
So it's songs from Vol. 1 & 2 as I suspected:

"The show will feature Star-Lord and Gamora in person as a 7-piece alien band brings many of your favorite hits from Awesome Mix Volumes 1 & 2 to life. You may even catch a glimpse of Little Groot. Showtimes are at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm daily."

Why? Why not just lift the same story used for California and Shanghai's show?

During “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!Star-Lord and Gamora return to the Collector’s Fortress to retrieve a special artifact … Star-Lord’s precious boom box. Looking to avoid discovery, they ignite a lively party vibe, enlisting everyone gathered around to help out and show off your favorite dance moves in a rockin’ Dance Off.

I'm a fan of the Marvel films and GotG is ridiculously good but this is such a lame stretch. I mean if they wanted to get those characters in to the park then just put them in there. No need for the back story. Play the Awesome Mix v1/2 where they are and have a dance party or something.

This is such a bad idea.
Eh, we'll see. I have a feeling they're probably gonna make it way too cheesy, but the music is still a solid collection.

There's been worse idea's though...

Barbie's Birthday Party (sidenote: Look at how awesome Epcot looks in the very beginning of this video)

Stitch's Supersonic Celebration (this one will never not be cringe-worthy)

Likely a preview of the sort of backstory/Epcot connection/"justification" we're going to be getting for the coaster. Hopefully the ride's version isn't this transparently half-assed.

Yeah Disney was great for Marvel. This is just for when people say Universal is wasting marvel in theme parks and Disney should have the rights back as they will do it justice. Just point to this.
