If we do, after all, get two maze announcements this month, followed by two in May and June, leaving July to release the final maze, which in my opinion would be Halloween, since it's most likely around the time the trailer will be released, like how last year they waited for Insidious 4's trailer to come out to announce the maze, that may give them enough time to start ticket sales either late July or early August. That way they can at least have all the mazes announced and not have to worry about people guessing what characters are blacked out on the website before their announcements. This could allow ScareLa to be when they release the Terror Tram theme and go into details about announced mazes.

I dunno if its just me, but something seems a little odd about this announcement, what reason would they have to give us a warning ahead of time?

Probably to generate hype since Stranger Things is bound to be one of the biggest announcements of all time.

I was thinking it could either be Stranger Things or IT, given that both are hugely popular and both are rumored to be shared! Ideally I wish it could be the supposed maze that's "taking the spot" of UCM; that way we don't end up like last year when coming up with various ideas as to what was replacing The Conjuring in WaterWorld.

If UCM was indeed never planned hopefully our 8th Maze is pretty good. I’m glad they’re knocking out the ST announcement since that would confirm we won’t see it getting Purged

I’m gonna say tommorow announcement is IT, it’s easily the biggest property they have this year and I’d imagine they want to announce it as so as they can. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Stranger Things.

I think the big thing here though is I can’t remember any point in my 6 years of speculating where they explicitly said the date and time when something was gonna be announced. Its also very strange to me that the USH Twitter said this and not the HHN one. Like why.

Stranger Things, I would think is good enough to post it first on the USH accounts before Murdy does.

While I am not going to diss IT, Stranger Things has become a landmark property for Netflix, that has surpassed what HoC did in notoriety. It's one of the few IP's that regardless of whenever they'd announce it, people would likely come in mass droves just for Stranger Things.

IT, is going to attract the common horror movie crowd, and a lot of other crowds in-between, but I'd wager it does not have the initial impact that ST has had since it's 2016 debut.

Which makes me a tad worried about how ST will be executed in WW. I really do hope they don't cut corners for that maze, given that we have a bigger budget to where the only black walls in mazes this year are for "outdoors" scenes, covered by trees and other vegetation. I'm hoping that they can utilize the area to their advantage, given the antagonists of ST are large monsters, as opposed to the previous 2 years in WW holding IP's of normal-sized slashers.

And while I don’t want to dismiss how big Stranger Things is, it’s definitely the 2nd biggest property we have. I just don’t see how IT isn’t the big draw this year. Maybe it’s because Netflix doesn’t release their viewership so I don’t know exactly how popular ST is, but IT made 700 million worldwide, it’s the biggest horror movie of the century and it’s coming to the biggest horror event in the country, I just don’t see how they wouldn’t try to announce IT first, unless Netflix plans to drop s3 info tommorow and they wanna use that to promote the maze also.

Well season 3 does start filming this month so it's possible that they could announce a few things about the upcoming season.

The only thing released about season 3, besides it focusing on the kids' new relationships, is how the actors are also getting higher raises. All joking aside, I'm interested to see what new monster is introduced to the mayhem this season, whenever it's coming out.

Well just last week they announced that it will take place in the summer of '85 with "Back to the Future" being a reference in the way that Ghostbusters was last year. They said a few other things as well. Here's the article if you're interested!

Hoping they can pull off the Mind Flayer in the maze!

My main concern with ST in WW is if they decide to include the Mind Flayer, they may try to cut corners and just do what they did in TWDA near the end with that row of TV screens of hordes of walkers clambering to get at you from outside, except you'll be in a building and looking outside through "windows"(TV screens) and seeing the Mind Flayer causing chaos, and that'll be it. I wouldn't put it past them if it's basically projections and screens for that creature.

I mean, that's how Orlando did Freddy and Jason fights, and those looked...alright?

I think Uni's hands are kinda tied with this one. On the one hand, "projection screens" make me think "blood elevator," and that's a problem. On the other hand, how else are they gonna do it? I can see one room with projection screen windows, and the next room having a GIANT La Llarona esque puppet coming through the ceiling, but...It's gonna have to be pretty small relative to the massive size it was in the show.

Come to think of it, would it be possible to do a projection effect ceiling? That would be kinda cool, seeing the underside of the mind flayer...

Well that's just the thing; I'm honestly expecting them to announce that it'll be based solely on Season 1. That way they can allocate the budget to working on other aspects for puppets in Trick 'r Treat, IT, The Thing, AHS-Asylum, and whatever the other maze is. Halloween doesn't seem to really need a huge portion of the budget, given it may be similar in layout to previous mazes.
