I think this is what may happen. Something they can put together quickly very late in the game as a response to the film's surprise (frankly, unprecedented) success. I'm sure there are calls being made and discussions underway as we speak.

My gut says nice photo op somewhere, possibly with a live performer (think Violent Night). May be too late to get merch designed, manufactured, and delivered.

They made a recreation of Nikki's shrine from the end for the premier, they can probably pull that out of storage. Throw in Nikki holding the vase for the character element.

Just saw Backrooms as well. Great movie and has serious house potential. It would fit like a glove in the UBE since the indoor queue already has that liminal Backrooms feel.

That being said, I wonder if you saw the same movie? Won’t go into further details for the sake of spoilers but there definitely was some um…potential scareactor characters that could be used for the house. Theres no need to invent their own just for the house.

I also don’t want to take the thread too far down the path for 2027 spec, but I think that movie is going to do well and has serious potential of being the first A24 house in the event’s history.

I also saw the movie today, and I don't really agree. There are a few action sequences they could pull from, but I'm not sure if its enough to actually make up a full house. The movie is at its best when it is subtly building up unease and dread, and I'm not sure if its really possible to capture that vibe in a house.

I'd love to see film like this be more broadly represented due to its unique creation and natural online community growth, but I agree with the concerns that others have brought up here.

I don’t agree at all about the scare actors but we can continue this convo for next year’s spec. I will keep hope that somehow EDB is at 2026 HHN.

The only legit good 3D house from back in the day was House of 1000 Corpses. That was only because the 3D imagery was used as an “enhancer” and not the main focal point of the visuals. I still have the 3D glasses from that house!

The other ones they did…Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, Black Sabbath, Clowns, and Things the End….were all weak houses. TITE being to this day the worst house they’ve ever done. All of the other houses outside of HoTC were NOT good and I’m not nostalgic for that era. Glad it’s over.

We technically did have one 3D house post covid and that was Pandora’s box. That was probably the better of the 3D houses outside of HoTC. But yeah I’m glad that era is over.

With the way JW's is being done--it makes me think of a well off person's crypt in a graveyard, or that of some kind of a temple of worship. Could be both; especially if there's a death cult--but I love the facade's scope and scale.

Definitely not kid like in the slightest.

Well that certainly looks like a castle.

Unfortunately doesn't look too similar to Castle Kandar from Army of Darkness, but it's not finished yet.

Remember, Army of Darkness has really weird right issues. Universal tried to incorporate it into Silver Screams in 2009 and had to scrape the IP labels off last-minute. It was entirely omitted from Ash vs. the Evil Dead (both the show and the house adaptaiton).
