Lol I was just watching a documentary on youtube on Jaws from 2005, and Mr Murdy made an appearance there too.

A bit of Halloween related trivia; Dick Warlock, who was Michael Myers in Halloween 2 was Hooper's stunt double in Jaws. And a bonus tangent, the house in Van Nuys where they edited Jaws and filmed the Ben Gardner head popping out scene in the pool, is owned by a couple called the Myers. And the actor's name in the opening scene is Voorhees. Not half hanging for HHN lol.

I bet the shark was a deadite.

Do yall think we're gunna get an overarching clown/carnival theme like Orlando? I know our sz are pretty limited but Hollywood also loves there clowns.

Also kinda love the idea of an overarching theme. Would love to see more in the future. Gothic Year, Sci Fi Year, Creature Year etc.

Tram is rumored to be a "clown mash-up" featuring Terrifier, KKFOS and Hollywood Harry, so that might be the justification for such a theme on our coast.. and yes, the overarching theme is always great..

When was the last time the event had an overarching theme? I would love that but John Murdy clearly doesn’t.

2022 kinda had one with everything being based around traditional Halloween, like Tram being the Halloween creatures, Halloween '78 house, Legends Collide representing Universal Monsters, Scarecrow representing scarecrows etc..

I don't think we've ever really had one which is why I kinda crave it. Closest would be the IPs like Walking Dead that @KlownzNskullZ mentioned but I like the original. I normally roll my eyes whenever HHN does clown stuff but somehow the all encompassing thing makes it for fun lol.

Orlando kinda had a forest theme in 2013 but that was also there "Oops all Walking Dead" year. I wonder how that would've turned out if TWD wasn't a factor.

Hey if they lose Terrifier for the Tram, maybe they can switch out Art for the Director, which is something they should’ve done from the start IMO.

I wanted to post this for everyone curious about the details about the Terrfier case.

Imagine going back in time to one year ago: July 22nd, 2025 AD. You tell yourself one year ago that on this date...

-There's going to be a Fortnight scarezone
-Hollywood Drift still won't be open yet
-They ruined the pile of gold scene in Pirates of the Caribbean
-The Cookies n Cream donut at Lard Lads will be replaced by an awful pistachio flavor.
-Burrito King in Echo Park will close

We truly are living in the dark timeline.

2007 and 2017 both had a bit of an overarching theme (though it didn’t encompass all of the parks zones and attractions) with Carnival of Carnage and Titans of Terror respectively. It felt like that trio had a major presence beyond their houses/tram and were marketed cleverly as being a packaged deal

It will be interesting to see how Fortnite works

I hope they bring my boy Raven from the game to life and hoping they do some tie in's with the game for HHN

Terror Tram was a fun concept the first time I did it but over the years it has begun to feel like a waste of our time when we go and at this point I am just looking for any reason to cut it out of our HHN schedule. It'll take something killer to get me down there again this year and if Fortnite-anything touches it, that will just be all the excuse I need to avoid it (-and I guess the NY scarezone now) like the plague, hah.

Interestingly enough, this is kind of Fortnite's fault, too.

"While the physical animatronic stems from Walt Disney Imagineering, the tech uses projection-mapping and Unreal Engine tools connected to Disney's broader partnership with Epic Games."

It really does ruin everything it touches.

Fortnite has tip toed around more adult-ish themes and skin designs. Recently the waters with Beach variants of some DC characters; they are considered pretty exposing relative to their usual designs. They even seemed to have more concealed designs ready to go.

Im very curious if this collab means their going to offer more edgey experiences on the game; they already have the kids cornered with Steal a Brainrot.

Going back to this for a moment, I'd say 2019 did a pretty good job of having an overarching theme not just in Orlando but especially also in Hollywood. I LOVED the 80's theme they had going on and while they toyed around with it a bit in 2018, they definitely went all-out in 2019 comparatively. Especially miss the merch designs of that year too and the 80's Throwback Thursdays
