Resident Evil will be good if based more off the games than the movies. The movies are really terrible.

My only complaint is that I really did not care for TWD last year and now I'm kind of disappointed it's coming back. Hopefully, they'll have more scare actors in the house this time alleviating my main problem with it last year. I love Evil Dead, even the new remake, and Cabin in the Woods a lot so for those I'm excited as long as they execute on those particular IPs well. RE seems like it could go either way. The rest I just feel rather indifferent to.

So these are guarantees huh? I am not seeing it But we will see. La Larona I will agree with, Don't see that many movie houses coming, They swore Cabin In woods was coming also Cabin in the woods and Walking dead are way to Similar. Walking dead repeat Why, what would be the point would you add the prison as a house from season 3? What so they can use those crappy mask again? Resident Evil another crappy video game house Silent Hill? Sorry I don't see that list being any good I do see American Werewolf in London because it has been in the works for years with all the clues ( Behind the scream tours ty) I think we will see more originality this year then last but we shall see.

I'll take American Werewolf, Resident Evil, and most of all La Llorona. Loved that house the past two years at Hollywood.

I really don't understand why some of you thought TWD wouldn't return. Universal is a business first and foremost and TWD sells big time. It may not be the most creative house they've ever done, but most guests I've talked to raved about the house.

I hope it's in a soundstage this year though. I thought the location was awful last year.

The only thing that scares me about La Llorona is that while it has been good in Hollywood for the past two years, so was Alice Cooper. Remember how that matched up to the Hollywood version? I'm still fairly excited for it though.

I'm not really shocked, just disappointed. I was actually a fan of the house last year, but I have no interest in seeing it again so soon. It just feels like it will be far too similar to last year's house. I'll gladly be proven wrong though. I wasn't looking for to last year's TWD house either.

Exactly. I really hope they don't recycle the house. It'll be rather disappointing if it's very similar to last years.

Decent description from here(more info on the link):
The ghostly woman who wanders along canals and rivers crying for her missing children, called in Spanish La Llorona, "the Weeping Woman," is found in many cultures and regions. Her story includes some strong similarities to that of Medea. She is perhaps the most widely known ghost in Texas.

There's also been a house in Hollywood based around the legend for the past two years. Here's a video of the house:

The only issue I see with the 4 huge IP's (TWD, ED, RE, and Cabin) is that they are all strikingly similar in ways to the general public.

Takes place in a Cabin... Cabin in the Woods and Evil Dead.

Involves zombies/undead.... all of them.

Prison... TWD and the rumored prison house.

Makes me feel like this isn't necessarily true. Walking Dead is a stone cold lock. The rest is up in the air. I'd like to see Evil Dead for sure as well as Cabin. That could be your humor house of 2013.

Excited to see what they could do with an Evil Dead house, as well as La Llorona!

To me, TWD mas a "meh" last year, but it's popular and brings crowds, so it's expected. Maybe this year's will be better, too.

Everything I have heard about La Llorona is that it's been successful out on the west coast but that it won't be coming to our coast.

From what I was told the creative team thought it would fit over in that park due to the large local Hispanic population familiar with the story, and that familiarity is not true in the Orlando market.

Out of curiosity (and this is pure speculation on my part) has anyone made the jump from AWIL to the london waterfront which should have facades up by September?

I've thought of it, but I don't know where the house would be located if that were the case.

Having lived in Arizona as a child, I can agree with this. The story of La Llorana was very popular, especially when the fall came around, to scare us. Whereas in Miami, a lot of people I've talked to, especially after my Cali trip, didn't have a clue what it was.

And to give more info as to what La Llorana is:

Although several variations exist, the basic story tells of a beautiful woman by the name of Aide Ramirez who drowns her children in order to be with the man that she loved. The man would not have her, which devastated her. She would not take no for an answer, so she drowned herself in a lake in Honduras. Challenged at the gates of heaven as to the whereabouts of her children, she is not permitted to enter the afterlife until she has found them. Maria is forced to wander the Earth for all eternity, searching in vain for her drowned offspring, with her constant weeping giving her the name "La Llorona". She is trapped in between the living world and the spirit world.

In some versions of this tale and legend, La Llorona will kidnap wandering children who resemble her missing children, or children who disobey their parents. People who claim to have seen her say she appears at night or in the late evenings from rivers or oceans in Mexico. Some believe that those who hear the wails of La Llorona are marked for death, similar to the Gaelic banshee legend. She is said to cry, "Ay mis hijos!" which translates to, "Oh, my children!"

They could run the queue between disaster and the construction, and then back around behind disaster connecting in to the queue they usually use for the disaster extended queue.

It's a bit of a stretch but thought it might be worth discussing.

Also it could be a scare zone. Which would make sense in that area.

If I recall correctly, I believe it was rumored that the AWiL house would to be in a Soundstage, but I could be mistaken. It will be interesting to see if they try to use the area for a type of scarezone though.

True, but most years the speculation out at this point is seldom 100%, and they get scare zones and houses mixed up frequently in early speculation.

It would just make a lot of sense to do it there.

On a side note I'm not sure how I feel about 4 houses in the sound stages. It's going to be packed with queues.

Is it close enough where 23 can get it's own sub-forum? :look:
