Does everyone forget the greatness of Nightmare Creatures? The very first video game house?

I'm joking, it was awful. You could see everything so it was pretty much just a scarezone inside.

What I mean is - I don't recall there ever being a Nightmare Creatures house.

I vaguely remember something to do with Nightmare Creatures but nothing specifically named or big like a house or a scare zone.

It was more of a walkthrough I suppose. It was street level in Kongfrontation. No hiding spots, about 3 people in costume?

Because if Universal buys the rights to an IP that hasn't really proven itself viable over the long term then they shoot themselves in the foot. Its not about how relevant the property will be after the event, but rather how much of an impact it has had on the public conscious and if that'll be enough to sell tickets in September. Personally, I don't think any video game can attract a crowd the way a movie or TV show can. If the theme and storyline and whatnot are good enough for a house, Universal can base their own original design off of if without paying for licensing and be done with it. A video game with a niche audience wouldn't draw in enough people to make the cost of purchasing the rights to it worth it.

I definitely agree that no video game could ever top a film or tv IP but I'm talking about a low costing, popular IP with a rapid fanbase here. Whatever I'll stop with the FNAF argument because it's probably getting insanely boring for everybody not involved but I still think it's a better IP than most unused ones out there. Also that house sounds atrocious good lord

A house based on or inspired by FNAF sounds like a good idea to me. I mean, a haunted Chuck E. Cheese with creepy animatronics hunting you......SIGN ME UP!

Here's a thought, just gonna throw this out there but I think this concept for a house would work, but why not do it as an original content house instead. That way there is no IP behind it and they can bend and mold it to their liking without having to work with IP owner.

On the other hand, does anyone remember that insane episode from Invader Zim about Bloaty's Pizza Hog? Imagine those characters running rampant and having a house on that. I definitely don't think that it will ever happen, but the point being that the same creepy kiddy place animatronics running rampant during the day/night is still a pretty terrifying/awesome idea.

and we have a clue. Straight from the HHN Twitter:

BLIZZARD

Based on an original house.

Not that it will happen or probably be of any relevance to the clue, but I did have an idea for a house where the Himalayan mountain range deity, Giri-raj is angered by the disrespectful and irreverent treatment of the sacred Mount Everest by the adventurers and mountain climbers challenging its peaks. To exact revenge and defend the mountain he resurrects the frozen corpses of the hikers and mountain climbers who died on the mountain and were left in places like the "Rainbow Valley", so that they may reek havoc upon the surrounding villages and any tourists (us) who would dare ascend the summit. And of course there would be an appearance by the the bloodthirsty yeti.

Sorry if the clue has been figured out, I've been in Cincinnati since last week so I haven't been able to keep up with this thread.

I honestly think the universal designers could come up with way better and scarier designs for a haunted chuck E cheese than FNAF but having another Francise to add to your line up never hurts. I'd personally like to see them tackle rhe subject either way it's definitely a perfect setting to a house

Ok, I downloaded this game JUST because of all the hype you guys gave it (they should pay you guys on this thread for the buzz you got going lol). I agree, it's a cool setting that has potential for a cool haunted house environment. But there's nothing exclusive to the game that is dying to be made into a house. They would have to do so much work to turn a game that takes place in one room into a full haunted house experience that they may as well make it an original concept. I see what you're saying about increasing IP lineups but I think there's this misconception that theme parks actually LIKE to use IPs when that really isn't the case. It's a pain to draw up contracts, get rights to every specific detail, negotiate how profits get spread, etc. that nobody really wants to do it. The only time an IP is useful is when it's a big name that can guarantee an ROI and enough money to justify the hassle OR when there's potential for synergy. If you ran a cost-benefit analysis of acquiring The Walking Dead or AVP and stuff like that, then compare it to a similar analysis of getting the rights to an app...they just wouldn't be the same. And Universal is totally unaffiliated with it. That's really why this won't happen--there's no denying that the game itself is interesting enough to be a haunted house tho

My sis and I were "jokingly" discussing if A&D did a Game of Thrones house last year while in line. She titled is GoT: Beyond the Wall. I was pretty proud of the concept she came up with about the guests being the Nights Watch and traveling beyond the wall to fight the terrors in the North.

I know a Game of Thrones house would never happen but when the code "blizzard" came out that's what jumped to my mind.

Universal has been known for doing IP esk Houses before, Interstellar Terror, Saws and Steam:ItM.. etc. I could see a Game of Thrones like house. Medieval ruins in the deep winter would be something fresh.

I was thinking about entering that since it would be fun to play with that stuff and maybe see something I had part of in the parks, but I'm just an old man and 24 hours straight coding after a week of it sounds a little much.
