When should we start hearing some real details?

From what I've seen (and talking with people who normally get the information), there's less of a clamor for info and fewer people willing to talk. I think, after the early crush of info last year, most are interested in just enjoying the build.

Here's what I know: 9 houses, one of which is back in an outdoor queue. I also know New York was the first zone written. We know "Cobweb," and I know another codename that I'm not allowed to disclose. And if I could, it would do no good because it's just as generic to Halloween as Cobweb. We have a rumored Penn and Teller return, a rumored Western house, and all sorts of IP speculation.

I like it this way.

I wouldn't read too much into the SketchUp image we got. It may be the entrance, but it could be a finale. It's nearly impossible to identify a venue based on an unlabeled image without knowing the entrance/exit relationship. And even then, it's not exact. If we knew how TALL everything was, then we may have a better chance.

I just can't wait to find out about the theme and houses. This will be my third year in a row. I went for my first time two years ago. I've been addicted since. I love that they switch up the houses and vibe every year. I'm wondering when I should start trying to book my hotel and see if I can get a FL resident discount for the room.

Then that case yeah you should start looking at hotels now. This will be my 15th straight year at HHN and every year its the same thing for me. I cannot wait for details. But they will come soon enough. If you look back in previous years most initial info hits the boards and sites in May.

I've stayed on all the deluxe on site resorts and Hard Rock was last year. Amazing hotel and very close. I might switch it back to Portofino or Royal Pacific this year. Leaning towards Royal Pacific.

I hope they one up last year's event some how.

It's probably an age thing with us, but Portofino is our favorite by far. CBBR is a great value though, and we're staying there a few days before we move to Portofino in May. We're going to try Sapphire for a few in Oct. just cause it's new, and then move onto Portofino.

Portofino is nice but the food options weren't doing it for me. Food choices were better at Royal Pacific imo. I wanted to do Sapphire Falls but no express was a deal breaker for me.

Do you think they will do another 3D house this year?

I'm not a HHN vet so I don't know much about that. We had fun though when we went, so we'll do it again for 2 or 3 nights. I like the RP sit down restaurants, especially Tchoup Tchoup, a little better also. But we absolutely love Sal's, getting the best pizza or antipasto on property and a bottle of wine on the Piazza. No better setting anywhere than that.

I found getting the Rush Of Fear Express last year was the best deal. Went three nights in a row to HHN. It was the best.

Yep, Tchoup Tchoup is great. The good thing about Portofino, it's the only resort with a balcony room (upon request) and has an awesome breakfast buffet at Trattoria.

Yes, We've been fortunate that we've always been able to get a balcony with my You Too rewards. The best one we ever got was the huge covered balcony in the corner overlooking the Italian singers a little below. I'd toast them with my glass of wine and they always looked up and acknowledged it. We had that room for 14 nights. Doubt I'll ever get that lucky again. Yes, the Trattoria breakfast buffet,and sitting on the piazza in the morning sun, is tremendous ambiance. We'll be there in less than four weeks. Can't wait.

I don't think Jack will be back this year, even though he was a huge success and I think we can all agree was absolutely awesome to experience. However I don't think they want to blow the load on him like they did in the previous decade where he was everywhere and fans got sick of him. I think Mike meant Jack will always be back as in, he'll never truly go away from the event. That's how I like it. Now if only they'd get started on new icons

I did? I'm guessing you might be talking about something posted by HHN Unofficial? There was a blog posted where Ripley credited my help that went on about Cobweb. I don't recall if he mentioned Tent 1, but the only contribution I made was the vintage Lovecraft paperback cover. As far as I know I have never publicly speculated the location of Cobweb. I have speculated it may be the Chupacabra house that got scrapped in 2012 "brought back out of the cobwebs". That is just a guess.

I don't mind if they don't have an icon this year, as long as the event has a theme that ties everything together.
