off topic: ok can ask you guys about the crowds. On every forum and page people are screaming about the crowds. More specifically teens. Im not usually bothered by crowds or the kids but I did notice these whipper snappers were pretty wild this year. Now I go to the event with my wife (5' tall) and my 12 year old daughter (taller than my wife now :). Im 6'5" so not exactly a small guy, so we have it down where I lead the way and follow inline behind me. Like we are about to clear a house. LOL. But man it was definitely crazier this year. I actually had to put my hands on one kid.

It was a group of high school boys, of course they have to congregate in the middle of the walkway. But one kid was like jumping up and trying to like climb on his buddies. He falls and lands right in front of me almost landing on me. His back is to me so he doesnt even know he's about to blast me. So I put my hands under his armpits, pick him up, and literally move him out of the way. The whole group thought it was hilarious. My wife just says "well you handled that better than I thought you would." And it didnt bother me in the least. I was that kid 30 years ago. I get it. But damn groups like that were everywhere.

Now I didnt see anything major with my own eyes, but Im hearing stories and scare actors being messed with and kids sneaking behind the scenes and those type areas. Anyone see anything wild?

on topic: overall I think this was a great year! houses were banging scare zones were better than the last couple years.

On Tuesday I saw a group of teenagers and adults shouting at team members in the Origins of Horror scarezone because the team members were telling them to not take photos with the flash. The group shouted at the team members and the team members shouted back and I just kept walking with my tour. I don’t understand why people think they have the right to just break whatever rules they want at the event and the group even started laughing when one team member mentioned it’s a safety issue for the scareactors. Like, come on people. Just turn the flash off

Is there a flamethrower associated with either the NY zone or Sting alley? It shot a good 10 feet in the air and I was genuinely questioning what I saw until I found this singular tweet

They had it at the front of the park, but was hard to see. Far better location and I really love the ambience.

Edit to not double post:
So far, HHN wait-times this year are up +33% compared to last year (originals are up +20%). I know waits aren't accurate and part of the increase is a way to reduce AAP impacts... but I think it's safe to say that the event is going to need a significant capacity boost next year.

These past two nights have been the busiest weekdays so far, so this weekend is going to be very busy.

I try my best not to be a "kids bad" person (I teach high school so maybe it is hard for me to be unbiased here) but I think this has been the worst year in terms of kid behavior since ive been going (28).

I sort of expected it to be a little heightened with terrifier and FNAF which are two IPs hugely popular with teens. (two of my favorite houses this year as well actually) but it was even worse than I was expecting.

More often than not I saw many teenagers being extremely rude towards staff and scareactors. More-so than previous years and even worse behavior than I typically notice in the older "30-45 drunk tough guy" demographic.

Straw that broke my back this year was riding The Mummy using single riders, and getting an entire car full of preteens who were obnoxious in queue, but when we finally got into the ride vehicle the show really started. The entire ride the kids took turns yelling over the ride audio, including chanting "n****r" over and over. I wasn't sure if I would be able to say anything to them without losing my cool and possibly getting myself into trouble too, so I didn't. But I regret not telling a TM- in the moment I doubted they would do anything and it wouldve just been a bigger headache to me. I don't even know what the right thing is in that situation, but I know that is not a situation I should be in while on vacation.

Keeping in mind I got a B in Stats, it seems most of the jump is due to FN@F, Terrifier and Jason. All three are high enough to adjust the chart v. previous years. The originals are busier -- IPs drawing more guests overall, Rockit closed -- but 20% isn't the 50% jump from Insidious to Freddy's. One could even argue Fallout and especially Wyatt Sicks are underperforming a little.

But this just illustrates the difficulty of adding capacity -- another just average house isn't going to eat up that many people, and even in this excellent year you can tell scare-actors are stretched thin across the event. I've gone through it before, but prices are still too low. Multinight Express sold out within minutes, and the event had no trouble finding 10k guests to buy a $400 single night with the promise of a manageable event. We'll see if crowds drop again after RoF, but if they do, it's further evidence.
