I am going to throw out an idea on the matter of a specific IP. An IP that has been rumored for the event, but one that I think might not end up happening for Orlando due to elements that'd...I genuinely don't like.
Been musing and chewing on the idea--but what if Orlando opts out of The Last of Us: Part 2, not out of concern of backlash for the material, but...
out of concern of the state government of Florida. This is going to be a unique situation and if the moderators do not wish to have me continue it, I fully understand; but I think there is a shot that The Last of Us: Part 2 is a much more dangerous IP to have at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando legally, because of the political landscape of how they view and wish to treat those in the LGBTQ+ community.
How they wish to strip their rights, and dehumanize those involved. We know they've viewed and looked towards actions done in the tourism sector and have attempted to prevent others (such as Disney) in the promotion of that. And in the case of The Last of Us, you have 3 major characters throughout the story that have blatent and complete ties towards that of the LGBTQ+ community, in a way that might be too much of a risk for Orlando to do so.
But in so doing, that in turn curates a paradox. The Last of Us: Part 1 attempted through it's story as a house to have Joel and Ellie present throughout the house, but what happens when 3/4's of your main cast is realistically unable to be represented as a result of where you are having the event at?
This is a late night musing, and I apologize for the blunt hit of a golf club that is reality; but I think there might be a real shot that TLOU2 might be forced to sit out of UOR until things get better for those in the landscape of Florida's LGBTQ+ scene.
I am going to be upfront that I hope this is an element of unfounded paranoia and fear, but a part of me thinks TLOU1 worked in context of the vaccum, because of how they treated Ellie and Joel more simplistically. TLOU2 would be a much larger hill to climb that might be more problematic for Orlando.
