What was the last real addition to the event offerings, the lagoon show? Maybe expanded food booths if counting that.

Another show would be ideal but yeah logistics.

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to get at here...? The event's popularity and crowds have gotten crazy since Stranger Things first appeared. Whenever the event reached a new crowd level in the past, they could add a house/show/zone. They haven't done that in 10 years now and have since started fidgeting with tickets and prices.

I’m getting at exactly what he said: he had a better experience when the event wasn’t limiting Express the way it has throughout the 2020s. We had two years of Stranger Things without Express limitation, and both provided a better experience than anything we’ve seen in the 2020s, seems interesting when the argument against FFP+E is that it causes line bloat, when again, the complaints are from years where these passes were extremely limited vs. near unlimited.

To be clear, my point is that the benefit of removing Express from Frequent Fear passes is still assumed unless there’s evidence that it actually improved waits or crowd flow for the event. Guests reporting better experiences during the two Stranger Things years, when Express passes were available and didn't sellout immediately, doesn’t prove those passes helped, but it challenges the assumption that removing them necessarily improved the event.

Or there's been a massive influx of guests since then, and the amount of people in the Express lines has affected wait times across the event

I mean good lord, remember when they used to offer BOGO tickets in the late 2010s? I sure do

The good old days are gone I’m afraid. I remember going into Publix to get discounted tickets.

The last year I went without express was the year IOA was included in the ticket with houses spread out to both parks. That year was so busy I actually swore off HHN for almost a decade.

Then when the IPs started getting stronger; and I had enough financial security to purchase express tickets I decided to go again and had an incredible time. I realized the event was really only fun for me with express. I’ve gone to many since, with the exception of the “Covid years”.

This event seems bigger every year, so they can’t rely on status quo. I’m really curious if this change will make a difference. Even with express the event is starting to feel over stuffed. Food and drink lines are also terrible, mainly because they have actually improved those themed options.

I’ve already bought my tickets this year. mainly because Hellraiser is a bucket list house for me and my wife. If Hellraiser wasn’t included … I may have sat out this year completely.

This was basically the point I was making lol, you just said it better

Stranger Things brought in a TON of new people, and those people never really left

Universal knows the numbers, so this is just my conjecture. But it’s still surprising to me to think that the Frequent Fear + Express pass holders were anything more than a very vocal minority. What proportion of overall guests / Express users really could have been HHN pass holders? If my inclination is right, you irk your loudest and most passionate and highest incremental margin fans for what… a relatively minimal impact on event congestion? Perhaps just to backfill it with single night Express holders anyway? I think this is really wait-and-see on how it’s handled operationally before chalking it up as a win.

As others have said, I think just 3x-ing the price might have been a better move. PR impact of that be damned.

Does anyone know if there are large text-free images of the house key art to date, please?

I'm pretty sure there's someone on here that posts the key art for each one - check in each of the original house threads!

Like @Parkscope Joe mentioned earlier this is not completely different from the changes Disney made recently regarding parking, it affects mostly local guests like myself (though I’ve personally never used Disney Springs parking for anything other than visiting Disney Springs), but as someone who’s gotten a chance to experience said change staying at Disney I can say (with my incredibly tiny sample size) I did notice a positive difference in line length at Disney Springs than I had seen & experienced in more recent previous visits. Will it be the exact same at HHN? We don’t know for sure yet until it starts, but what we do we know is Universal has data that we don’t, and I know we’ve all seen how low the prices were for those tickets to the point that we were all expecting this to happen eventually, so hopefully the elimination of those tickets will still end up being a positive change across the board even for the guests that purchased them.

To add on to my point and yours, these changes are happening now because of Florida’s exploding population. There are way more locals now buying passes/using DS bus trick simply because there are more locals! It’s a compounding issue.
