Well that's because Exorcist: Believer movie wouldn't be released until mid-way through the event and the house it was based on acted like a walk-through trailer for it. I 100% understand why it wasn't on any "Unmasking the Horror" tours that year and The Last of Us was included.

I mean, there's always a house every year that isn't included on any tour for various reasons.

They still could have easily had TLOU on the 6 house tour and made the 3 house tour all originals, but they didn't lol

It's always interesting to me that, in 2023, the 3 house tour included The Last of Us.

Including 1 major IP on each tour is a cool idea to me - encouraging people to possibly do BOTH tours rather than just one.

I'd argue that Stranger Things 4 was the bigger IP than The Last of Us for HHN 32 (not saying that either house was "better", but ST4 definitely had the bigger hype and longest house wait times according to Thrilldata).

So Universal had 3 options:
1. Keep ST4 on the 6 house tour, without Last of Us.
2. Move ST4 to the 3 house tour, instead of Last of Us.
3. Keep all the big IP's on the same tour (6 or 3 house tour).

For my last point:
It's not surprising to me that Universal wanted to separate ST4 from Last of Us to get HHN fans to buy both tours. As for why Last of Us was delegated to the 3 house tour instead of ST4 (your original point), it's honestly a toss-up.

I think putting at least 1 major IP house on each tour is a good business move to draw people to buy both.

I interpreted your OP that you were wondering why that specific IP (instead of Chucky/Exorcist/ST4/ect) was on the 3 house tour. If I took that out of context, my apologies.

Yeah, I’m hoping we get three originals on the six house tour this year. I’m just thinking back to when i started doing the six house tours in 2021 and having quite a bit of originals as part of the tour every year. I was honestly bummed out by there only being two on last year’s six house tour

Yeah, my point was just that the 3 house tour included one of the 2 major IPs!

I think a healthy balance of originals/IP's (at least 1 IP and 1 strong original (i.e. Deadman's Pier, El Artista, ect.)) for the 3-house tour and the rest on the 6 house tour should be the standard.
