From someone who hasn't attended yet - my S&S strategy is to get my wristband and go see the last showing of Horror Makeup lol

If you have Express, do this. Really no point in waiting in a physical line for houses to open up.

If you don't have Express, I'd do this and then hit the back of the park.

So with two weekends in the books, are there any tips on how to maximize the new S&S this year? Is there a different plan for front and back of park?

With every house being preloaded before its official open, the effectiveness of S&S touring has been greatly diminished. It used to be once you got out of the 5:15 house you picked, you were still on an equal footing with everyone going to the 6:00 houses. That's no longer the case - now you're behind people who got in line for the 6:00 houses while you were still in line for the 5:15 one. I used to aim for four or even five quick hits during S&S, but opening weekend I only managed three.

My intuition is that the most productive use of S&S (if you don't feel like burning two hours waiting in pole position for FNAF, which I did on opening Sunday and will never bother with again) is to get in line by 4:30ish for a run through Terrifier at 5:30 -> WWE or Grave 5:45 -> El Artista as close to 6:00 as possible -> maybe make a run for Jason, though accept you'll be waiting a bit by that point. I reckon tent houses are better saved for after midnight.

Piggybacking off of the recent comments, under the new system, could a person hit FNAF first and then run across the park to the tents?

I know in past years they kept people in the NY area in that vicinity until 6ish.

Yeah the whole park is fair game.

You technically could. Only problem is FNAF is usually 1 or 2 hour + wait at opening, hitting capacity opening weekend after opening.

Yeah, I figured as much for waits so we are thinking about getting in line for it ASAP utilizing our S&S and then running as far away from that area as possible as soon as we are out.

My CURRENT understanding is that we can grab our wrist bands around 3pm, the paths back to the sound stage houses open up somewhere around 3:30-3:45pm, the path closest to Minions is the one that drops you nearer to FNAF, the queue opens around 4pm, and the house opens between 5-5:15pm.

Is that all correct or correct adjacent?

We have Express so we're definitely planning on it!

Since we have Express both nights (and Unlimited Express if available) - we're planning to just treat S&S as normal park time. Maybe hit the HHN food booths if they're open!

Oh yeah, if you have Express it's honestly a perfect opportunity to hit up some rides (E.T., MIB), see a show, get some food etc.

As for the houses, what I did opening night was hit up Hatchet and Chains when they opened the line, and I was able to chain H&C, Dolls, Fallout and Galkn with relatively low waits. Naturally Fallout and Galkn had more of a line due to already being open once I got there, but it wasn't bad.

The food is open, and it's a great time to take advantage. I walked up to the Fallout booth with no line around 5:50.

Something that work for us was that we got wrist bands to stay and scream -- We went and got some food and drinks and then hung out near Jason's -- now they do not open the house until 6 but the queue opened about 20 minutes before 6 -- we were out of the house by 6:25 -- this still gave us a jump on the folks coming in at opening for us to hit up Galkin or Hatchet so still getting in two house in less than an hour -- plus getting food/drinks was easy during S&S

That matches our experience last weekend. Around 5PM the FNAF queue was released to walk from the queue soundstage to the house soundstage with the house opening at 5:15PM.

After the first night of starting with FNAF at S&S, we had some success with starting at WWE and then Terrifier before getting to El Artista by 6PM on the following evenings. Jason wasn't too bad after that and we were able to have all of those along with Fallout and Galkn by around 8PM. We just watched for fluctuations at the remaining houses throughout the night and then picked up any remainders after 1AM.

This has been something I've been wondering about, so thanks for this!

We've always said that S&S would be a perfect time for the HHN food booths to open up a little early, glad to see they're doing it!

Quick question on Express. I am going with a group of friends this Friday and we were planning on all having Express (I have a FFP+ w/Express already). However, the rest of my group waited to buy Express, and the website is showing Friday as being sold out now. Talked to guest services about it during a solo trip this past weekend and they were not able to confirm that the regular express passes would come back into stock, only that there should be after 11PM express available closer to Friday. Has anyone had any luck with buying express the day of, or is the rest of my group going to be stuck with after 11 passes most likely?

In the past I've had buy friends buy it in person the day of. Might want to try before the event starts for a better chance.

I tried to buy Express two years ago and it was sold out for opening weekend. I had 2 options though, upgrade my ROF to ROF+Ex or buy an Unlimited express pass. I did this in the early morning.
For the after 11 express, I've also been able to purchase at guest services for multiple days in the future, although his was 2018 or 2019. Anyway, the sooner you try in person the better.

What's the earliest that the food booths have been open this year? Are they ever open before the first house opens (5:15)?

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. The guest services person I spoke with said that the after 11PM pass is bookable by them a few days before, but was not available to them yet (talked to them on Saturday, said it should open up on like Monday or Tuesday for Friday).

During our visits it appeared a number of booths were open a little after 4PM when we got the Death by Cheese Stick before heading to the soundstages. I'm not sure if all of them officially open around that time though.
