...In a strange way; I think we are NOT seeing any house announcement AT ALL at MSS.

You know... thinking about it, maybe you're right. I feel Murdy might want to focus on details of his already announced mazes and what'll come into play through a scare zone, and if it's rumored to be Universal's Classic Monsters then I can see that being a focus too. 


Isn't the next maze announcement supposed to be Doris Day? I doubt Krampus will be announced at MSS, considering it's MSS, unless USO is planning to announce that day too and Aielo teases beforehand... but as mentioned before, Doris Day will be an exclusive.

I'm not saying that "Doris Day" is going to be "Krampus" I'm just saying that "Freddy Vs Jason" could be announced with "Krampus" (probably not but still a possibility so that 4 mazes can be talked about instead of 3) also I do heavily believe that "Universal Monsters" won't be announced at Midsummer Scream and will be announced with "Freddy Vs Jason" and will also be talked about at Midsummer Scream.

Ah, gotcha. I can see that. Maybe not two announcements in one day (maze wise) but FvJ and classic monsters might just do the trick.

I assume that extra piece of wood sticking up next to the chimney on the Krampus house is where they will attach a Krampus figure, like in the film's poster?

I would assume that the extra wood may be for the Dormers as they haven't been installed yet.

In my personal opinion; I think it would actually be a terrible idea on having him up there.


Something to keep in mind that the film did surprisingly well was not showing him fully until they needed too. In the implementation of this IP to a house; this should be kept in mind as he is also quite large, large enough to where it may not be physically possible.

I said in my opinion to why it's a terrible idea in my opinion, is simply because it'd ruin one aspect that made Krampus a good film. It had him as the last major aspect to the film, as we lead up to his big scenes.


My hope for the house is that they focus on his Minions and the creatures until the last quarter to where much like the film, we see Krampus in his glory; in the tent and in a controlled environment. I would much rather see him in there rather than seeing him out at the front of the house in the day light, but that is my opinion.

I understand what you mean. Usually when they use the maze's antagonist as apart of the facade (e.g. young Michael Myers killing his sister in the top window last year) it's to probably not have to focus a room of the maze to a particular scene in a film or show. Also to build suspense or anticipation for encountering the ol Christmas Devil in the maze, not putting him on the top would be a good idea to emit that atmosphere. That and I kinda agree that it's probably physically impossible to put a figure on top of the facade. If anything, they could probably use the good ol projection effect of having the minions shadows appearing from the light up windows with crashing noises and laughter being on the outside soundtrack.

I think the good thing to know is that WETA is probably working with both Murdy and Aiello so they can get the molds and knowledge on how to create the creatures for using them properly of Universal Hollywood and Orlando's events.


I do see the elves being in the maze by quite a bit, but the highlights should be the creatures of Teddy, Krampus, and the Clown so that's what I am curious about.

Perhaps it's just my bad memory, but I could've sworn that earlier in the year on Twitter, Murdy stated that, similar to 2014, there were gonna be 2 houses that would use advanced puppetry. Now obviously Alien vs Predator and An American Werewolf in London required them since the werewolves and Xenomorphs were better suited as puppets, so I'm pretty sure Krampus will use puppetry; I'm just unsure if the other maze to use said advanced puppetry will be either The Exorcist, being a theatrical maze, or the Waterworld Queue maze.

I understand what you said, but I don't agree with your premise that the whole creature has to be up there. It could be a cloaked figure or a just the hands. There are other ways around it. I'm not saying it will, but just curious why you felt so strong that it be would "terrible". And the only way I'd used the word terrible would be in describing the film.

I could see this with the Crooked Man (considering he is fairly tall) in our Conjuring maze (so to speak it comes) or Freddy vs Jason considering how in Nightmares he can grow, expand, etc.
