I rember before this ride began construction they said you would have over 5 near misses with other trains and coaster elements. Do you think this effect will work when the maximum number of trains are on the track, and capacity reaches 1850 riders per hour?

Well, its closer now due to the moving belt, but until they get the rest of the trains running, I doubt there will be any express.

Saw trains running on Rockit during my drive to work at 7 AM this
morning. Any ideas why? I should note that it was 41 degrees at the time.

I was pointing out the temperature because I have never seen it operate in such low temperatures. Granted there probably wasn't anyone on it, but perhaps Universal is prepared to get ballsier and lift the weather restrictions after some successful testing.

Well I spent the weekend at Universal and I must say that the line for RockIt is much improved. It now moves at a steady pace and it gives you more time to get ready and choose your song. It's getting better but still not up to it's limit of 7 cars on the track yet which would be great. Just for comparison, today at 4 the line was only 10min.

HRRR has a limit of 5 cars on the track at a time. They have a total of 7 cars. One will always be in refeb, one will always be in stand-by.

Oops, my bad then. I thought 7 cars was the limit. Anyways I still think there is room for improvement but if things stayed the same as they were on Sunday I'd be fine with that too.

Edit: No Express is not open yet.

It has a limit of 5 cars on the track under optimum conditions. In colder weather, it can only run 2.

I was there the other day and it was 48 degrees and they were running 4 trains. They have been running 4 trains pretty consistently all year. And by the way As far as I can tell the rough trains have been fixed. Atleast when observing I haven't heard any of the trains sound like they have a flat tire as they pass by.

I'm surprised they even operate in lower temperatures. I heard a few months back they wouldn't be operating in conditions under 50, let alone with four trains. I'd imagine four trains is pretty safe in the cold weather. Most parks only remove trains in incliment weather to add space between trains as a procautionary.

For some reason, I imagined the moving platform working differently and such.. Sometimes I feel like their loading process is disorganized and crazy at times compared to the way I've seen it done at Disney.

We're going to both US parks in June but I'm not sure about riding this. I ride Hulk (although hate the take-off hehe) and DD, but I'm not sure whether the combination of a much higher drop and going up laying flat would be enjoyable. Also most people seem to talk about rough trains and long queues which also puts me off :( although we would probably not ride this until later in the evening.

What would you guys say about it? Hulk and DD are pretty much the only proper coasters I've ridden. I do enjoy them (bar the Hulk take-off mentioned above) and find their speed is perfect so you never feel too much serious stomach-dropping or being thrown around. Would I enjoy RRR? Or find it too much?

The wheels are plastic on Rockit, so I don't see how there could be a "flat tire" if there's no air in it.
It's odd that they were running 4 trains in 48 degree weather. I was also told that they can't operate in weather under 50. Now, before you all go blaming Maurer Sohne for sabotaging HRRR again, consider the average temperature in Florida (even in what we Floridians call "winter". It's not very low). I haven't seen (or heard) any rough trains in the last few times I've been.

If you're going in June and want to get a shot at riding Rockit, I suggest heading to it first thing in the morning. This puppy fills up quick, and for good reason. It's a much calmer ride than Hulk and Dragons, so I suggest riding it. The drop actually isn't that much higher than Hulk and Dragons (only by what, 30ft?). The laying flat issue: You're not really "laying", rather just on your back in a seat for about 6 seconds. It's actually a pretty cool feeling. The rough train issue seems to have been fixed. The long queue issue remains a problem, but that's because it's an extremely popular attraction. I think you would enjoy HRRR, especially if intensity is your problem on bigger coasters. It's very tame. I highly suggest getting a ride on my favorite ride in the Orlando area.

Thanks Emmett, you've made me feel a bit better about riding it this summer :)

Is it true you can have problems hearing the song you have picked?
