I'm on the comptroller's website right now. How and with what tools do you search?

I posted that it is a bitch to use on the HP thread. You start in the middle and then you have to know what Uni is called as a biz here. It is called "Universal City Development Partners". That took me a while to figure out. In the middle type above as the "Grantor". Set the dates of your search in the fields before. BUT WAIT, go back up and click checkbox "Uncheck box to search specific document types. " and then scroll down to "notice of commencement" and select. Then search your arse off.

Oh yeah... then click on an item... and then click "View XXXXXXXXXXX" on the upper left. It will be generated as a PDF.

In my opinion...... nope. (I wouldn't wait more than 15 mins for it, personally).....

BUT that's just my personal feeling on Rockit. I'm sure many (or the majority?) would disagree.......

Depends who you ask. I personally think it is worth the wait for the first time. Now that I've been on it several times, I will only wait at the most 30 minutes.

Sorry I didn't post this info here sooner, but I was more focused on WW stuff at the time. Anyway, I wizzed by a TON of "Amended Notices of Commencement" for HRRR between Sept and Nov of 2009. They knew the project was in deep doo-doo and needed to extend the length of time the contractors could continue working on the project.

Additional new "notices of commencement" from the Orange County Comptroller were issued in November for HRRR. One was the new winch system to pull the cars out of the valley. Also another contract for a ladder (permanent or not) created for the valley-prone part of the ride. The NOC that I found most facinating was that a heating system was installed somewhere in the load area. I don't believe it was heating for the riders cue... I believe it may have been to warm up the train/wheels on cold days before going on its next run.

Finally, and this was a choker for me. A NOC in December for a new large graphic banner... this was the only one that was bonded. I was SHOCKED... the new banner on the lift was bonded for $425,000.00. A bond is basically insurance to replace or fix the job being done... thus, the contracted price of the banner graphic.

That is all that I can recall for now. Hope you enjoy these little bits of behind the scenes of HRRR.

That much for a graphic banner? I mean yeah the banner is gigantic, but I think they could've gotten a much better price if they went to Kinko's. I'm liking the improvement plans. Only thing I'm wondering is how long the ride will be down to work on the enhancements. I would hope only for 2/3 of the month because once Thanksgiving passes, winter tourist season begins.

It is the first time. I waited 2.5 hours for my first ride and still love it. I won't wait over a half hour now for it though. I've been on it 11 times.

Exactly. It's like every other ride. You'll feel comfortable waiting for your first experience on it, but after doing it a few times you won't want to wait as long.

I think they might have purchased the first one that blew apart from Kinko's... This new banner was fashioned by a company up north, New York State I believe.

It's fine to listen to other opinions, but you should really try it for yourself. My first time I waited for almost 2 hours and I thought it was worth it. I've gone on it 3 or 4 times, and yeah waiting sucks, but I do enjoy going on it. And who knows, you might get lucky and have a short wait! The ride is not bad, and they're still working out any kinks, so it might even get better ;)

I'm obviously by no means a fan of Rockit (in fact, it would be my last choice for attraction at Universal, besides Neutron......), but as others have said, don't necessarily listen to us Rockit haters. You may ride it and love it, and I definitely recommend at least giving it a chance.

(In fact, I still give it another chance from time to time, hoping it'll win me over.......)

Depending on when in November you go, it is usually one of the deadest months of the year. If you go during a weekday it should have low queue times throughout the day. TWWoHP is another story however.

Got a few pics of Rockit this morning, it was at 75 minutes at about 10:15 with what looked like four train operation. I hung out by the entrance waiting for the single riders to open up and after about 20 minutes I left.

What can I expect for wait times on this coming Sunday? I really hope I can get on, because I missed riding the first time I went to the Studios. (this is only my second visit)

My guess would be if you get there within the first hour you will wait less than an hour. If you get there later in the day or after 11:00 am I am gonna say around 90 minutes. If I was you and your riding alone wait outside the attraction until they open the single rider line. Today was the first time I didn't get on during my stay. I have a general rule, I will wait outside the main entrance for no more than 20 minutes for the single rider line to open. Do this and you can get on at least once sometimes twice within fifteen minutes if your lucky while stand by is rolling with a 90+ minute wait.
