It is in technical rehearsals, so it will be open periodically, judging on experience from how they did The Simpsons Ride.

It will not be open with the park tomorrow, but if you are off, you might want to go.

Good question. I am off work tomorrow and would love to drive down and ride it but not so much wanting to drive down for nothing, kinda burnt out on universal for now.

Drive down, but sleeping in is always fun.

I was wondering about how long soft openings/technical rehearsals usually last for? About how long was it for ROTM or Simpsons?

*info on rockit*

*2009 - Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit- (8/17/09) The soft opening of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit has been a success so far, and as rumored, people have quickly discovered how to access a large number of hidden unofficial music tracks loaded into the trains. From what I’ve been told the correct way to do this is to push and hold the HRRR Logo for about 5 seconds, which will bring up a numbered touchpad. From here you can enter in any 3 digit number from 001 to 999 and each one features a different song.* Tracks 1 to 30 are just the featured songs they tell everyone about, but the other 969 tracks are all waiting to be discovered by you.* We’ve already been sent a short list of a few of them:112 – Freebird311 – a R&B song that was unknown to the rider901 – A Muppet Song (unknown track)902 – Rainbow Connection (another Muppet Track)*** If you happen to try it and find a new song, please do send it in and we can eventually make a list of them all. One word of warning however… if you do choose to enter a song this way, this will deactivate the video camera recording system, as they don’t have the rights to sell copies of the song on your video clips, so it is for your listening benefit only.*

I got on it today. It was fun, but not really that amazing. It felt unique, but not in a good way. It almost had that Arrow "we're just guessing" engineering feel to it. I thought the ride seriously lacked speed. It felt like it was dragging. I understand that the ride wasn't meant to be thrilling, but this thing was tamer than Everest. Manta wins.

Funniest thing I have read today. Arrow certainly did their share of guessing.

Couldn't disagree more. Sorry dude. Every second of this ride flows so well that it's CLEAR it was well thought out beforehand, unlike Arrow's "Uhhh, put in a loop... and yeah... um... how about another loop and then two cork screws" mentality for every ride.

No WAY is Rockit tamer than Everest. Not on its worst day.

Sometimes I wonder if Ron Toomer even worked there - or if he just wandered in an open back door one day with his coat hanger in tow.

You don't have to hold it a full 5 seconds (maybe 3.5) but the number pad doesn't appear until you release your finger. Track 301 is Modest Mouse - Float On

Incorrect - not the code but the rest of the statement. Neither 5 seconds nor 3.5 seconds is accurate.

and that's your answer.

The coaster sounds great. I am going to try and get up there once it officially opens so I don't risk it being closed.
Here is a video of Rockit' opening. Not a great video but go to 1:04.

Ok - so can someone please tell me the significance of 1:04? All I see is an awkward operations manager grasping at whatever straws are left in his own personal neverland?

I rode it today. I thought the first half was way better than the second half. Going up that 105 degree incline is unlike anything I've ever experience in my life. You can see Tampa from the top, which is kind of cool.

On the way down the first drop, I remember thinking "Oh man, I really don't want to go upside down" which was good because to my surprise the trains are actually like X^2 trains and our car randomly rode on the OUTSIDE of the loop.

After the inversion, we did some other things, but at this point I was to busy listening to my awesome song choice which was hidden track 945 (California Screamin' theme.)

The second half of the ride was only good because of the barrel roll (crowd surfer) element and the surprise launch into the break run (drunk driver element). Overall I rank it a 11 out of 10 which is just a bit under Dark Knight Coaster on my top 2.

I swore it was a 90 degree lift, not a 105 degree lift. Correct me if I am wrong.

You're wrong Kevin. This guy is Canada's foremost Protractor Expert. He'd know. It's 105º.

I got the train that rides on the outside too!! Anyone else have one of the different ones?
