Jurassic World Adventure is what I want. An indoor ride that actually feels like it’s inspired by the movie it’s based on, and with impressive animatronics, and I don’t get wet, possibly soaked.

I hate water rides I have no emotional connection to dinosaurs and locations not seen in the films especially yellow broken neck ultrasaurs the dinosaurs are usually in poor shape the seats are uncomfortable and it essentially it feels like a ride designed before they knew what audiences would like about the film and it shows.

I like the look of the Raptor containment area moment. It feels like the film. But it’s brief.

absolutely agree completely

I don’t necessarily disagree with any of this but I think it works really well as you treat the the whole land as a hypothetical sequel to Jurassic Park where it’s Hammond’s second chance to do it right. I remember thinking as a kid how cool it was to see essentially a story extension of a movie I loved so much. But I totally understand where you’re coming from.

the ride feels very empty ( compared to Disney's Dinosaur ride with dinosaurs all over the place)

I remember reading ( or seeing a video ) that when they were making the ride, the designer told them to cover the top of the river part with vegetation or flowing trees or something on top like in a jungle and uni said no.
I've always hated that, one of the worst decisions I've ever heard of ( sure they had reasons, budget?)
that river part should have been covered on some way with vines or something...
the worst part about it is that Jurassic world completely understood the assignment

Disney's Dinosaur is the real Jurassic Park ride to me. you get chased by the Carnotaurus and everything

I prefer VelociCoaster over River Adventure, but I’ve spoken before of why that ride doesn’t resonate with me.

Back to the point, I don’t see Ghostbusters getting a ride. Fast & Furious, like Jurassic World, is an in-house property, so it works well for a stand alone bare bones coaster—without having to worry about a rights holder demanding more placemaking.

VelociCoaster needs on ride music to be Truly Great! At least the second half starting with the top hat. I cannot fathom the reasoning in not adding it?

Hulk music hasn’t worked for me in years. I feel like the speakers have to be turned up so loud they blow and sound bad or just short out from rattling. I’m so annoyed by the music cutting in and out every time I’d rather not have any.

I myself think Hulk is a bit overrated overall, but think it absolutely stinks without music, which happens to me, but not often. In fact my daughter gets so ticked off when broken she asks for a re-ride lol.

I’m not sure a tree canopy would have done much, I think the open air feel definitely adds to the grand scale of the entire ride.

If I recall correctly, the opening scene in Hollywood had this. Although poorly executed.

Nothing in theme parks is every guaranteed but if that notice of commencement from Intamin is for a Rockit replacement, what is the time frame we are thinking? Close HRRR in mid 2025 and then have a new coaster ready for summer or later in 2026? or beyond that?

If it does close next year, I'm guessing it would shut down after HHN, so that construction wouldn't interfere with access to the soundstages.

Same, also HRRR as well now that I'm Older. For some reason night rides don't bother my head though.

While not the solution to the problem, if it is F&F, I wonder if they could do something similar to the netting on the HTTYD coaster and make a fake road under the track.

It would look like you're on a Mario Kart track but would be fun.

Been a long time. But figured I’d put my two cents in cause a few things don’t make sense. I have no inside knowledge, I’m just sharing my thoughts is all.

- Why put in another Fast and Furious attraction in Studios at this point? The first one failed horrendously and how much merch sales are you really going to gain from reusing the franchise you essentially ran into the ground.

- Hollywood is different. A scene in a tram tour is much different than a stand alone attraction. You can’t have two stand alone attractions in two different sections of the park. Can you? lol Plus do you really want to give people another FF coaster after Hollywood? Why not a completely different theme.

- If these Intamin permits are for the replacement of Rockit you already have a fully viable franchise that fits directly into New York that would instantly have an impact on attendance, merchandise sales, and even food and beverage. I mean hell you already have the facade, sort of.

- If I was in charge I’d put a Ghostbusters Intamin Blitz coaster with a fully themed firehouse entrance smack dab in the middle of New York. Theme the cars to Ecto-1 and theme it to chasing ghosts. I mean given the success of the “reboot” of the franchise with I believe at least one more movie coming it imo just makes so much more sense than another Vin Diesel family is forever clone from another US Park.

As much as I do love JPRA at it's best, I honestly 100% agree. Dinosaur just nails the feeling of being chased by a giant carnivorous dino and there's so many cool scenes and effects supporting that concept.

Although, I've never seen a thread get so off-topic so quick haha. We're talking about DAK's Dinosaur in the Rip, Ride, Rockit thread. :lmao:

+ the area where HHN typically queues up between the soundstages and Hogwarts Express.

I think the best-case scenario would be an entrance/queue where the the Rockit "Trebleclef" maneuver/helix is with a launch out to the empty parking lot by the soundstages.
This is pure speculation on how they can use the available area to them. View attachment 24151
This idea provides more space for Despicable Me to receive a better queue by replacing the current Rockit location. It has horrible capacity and an ugly queue. Would provide them the ability to spruce it up a bit.

Note: This doesn't consider the special events building as a potential area for use. You could theoretically build a new media/special effects complex where the Rockit helix near Hard Rock Cafe is (therefore easier to access without the need to have USF open) and then use it for coaster space.

I'm not a fan of the F&F IP, but it is the easiest IP to suit a launching drift coaster. A Ghostbusters attraction deserves special effects, not a branded coaster IMO.

Just doing some measurements, that parking lot isn't much smaller than GotG's gravity building. A partial indoor/outdoor coaster using a building built there opens up a lot of possibilities.

Of course that assumes they can lose that parking lot.

I don't see why not. And the shed like structure could even be removed if it contained things that could easily be moved elsewhere on site for an even bigger ride.
