Usually we get a 'Sponge Bob' attraction request from all those Sponge Bob fans out there when there's an attraction chance. Where are you guys. This is your big chance for input. ;) :D:lmao:

Anyone think it could just be a generic “movie studio” theme instead of a single IP? Perhaps “fly through backstage” or something, taking you through a bunch of IPs or film sets or something.

As much as I would love a Ghostbusters or BTTF coaster I think they’re both a bit of a stretch. I’m not really sure how the theming elements to these would work on a coaster, especially outdoors during the day. I think they’re better suited as dark rides. But then again, it is Universal.. so I have high hopes regardless.

haha no, it would just be funny if the version of a great movie ride we got at universal was a lightly themed thrill coaster

For some reason I thought GB was a Uni property lol.

Yeah I'm more sold on it being F&F knowing that.

I always forget Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice aren’t Universal IP. It helps understand why Universal relies so heavily on Jurassic and Despicable Me.

A Universal version of Movie Park Germany’s Studio Tour would actually be awesome.

Not gonna lie, a high speed thrill spinning coaster themed to US Hollywood Backlot Tour would crack me up. Coming out of a sideways Stall into "and here is the set for Jim Carrey's The Grinch" then backwards into a zero G Roll.

Don't waste Ghostbusters on a height/intensity-limited coaster through backstage areas.

A GB attraction should be more widely-accessible and provide the opportunity for major effects, sets, and AAs.

Me as a child when Jurassic Park The Ride opened and I was too scared to ride flume rides with drops.

Aesthetically and thematically, River Adventure is at least trying (to varying degrees of effectiveness depending on who you are) to deliver on the premise of JP's action: guests menaced by large dinosaurs in a jungle park tour environment.

As others have pointed to before, if the only Jurassic attraction that existed was VelociCoaster, I don't think many would argue that it's trying to deliver on what a person would want/expect from a JP attraction. It fills a niche as a complement.

I would also say that it's not just kids or "scared" people who avoid high-intensity coasters; I literally can't do coasters with inversions without having pretty extreme vertigo triggered. It's the only thing -- not drops, not screens -- that makes me actively feel quite sick.

If the Universal execs decide to move forward with F&F as the HRRR replacement (would be better for a high thrill coaster) an idea could be to replace Simpsons at USH will a proper Ghostbusters dark ride to do the IP justice.

I feel like we all need to not get our hopes up of ever getting a Ghostbusters ride at USF, of any kind, let alone a dark ride.

Is this our first-ish sign of them having more flexibility with backstage space now they’ve been able to relocate some areas to the epic sites?

The new buildings are going into a part of a parking lot near the soundstages being taken over, and part of the Fallon extended queue and evacuation path underneath Rockit. Nothing to do with backstage support areas for the park.

Yeah my thought had been around less parking required.

Thanks for the clarification.

Turns out the things that are getting moved to Epic are things that were off site to start with, (food production mostly,) so it’s not saving any space at the original resort unfortunately.
