As much as a clunky peice of junk this ride was, it was our clunky peice of junk that was actually pretty fun. Love it or hate it, was an icon of universal. Will always be fond of it, even if it is time for it to go.

I do wonder, what type of coaster do we expect? Drift? Vertical launch?
I do think it’s 110% intamin, they’re universal’s guys.

Just curious...and I know that all of this is purely out of speculation and we don't have any definitive proof of anything yet...but do most people here think this will be replaced with Fast and Furious, Ghostbusters, or something different entirely? Just collecting data out of curiosity lol.

The prevailing rumor is F&F. It already has a coaster going up next year at USH and the IP lends itself well to a high speed thrill ride. Ghostbusters has cropped up because Universal recently secured the theme park rights and the entry point for the ride is rumored to be moved to the old Ghostbusters show facade.

I anticipate a family drift. I know people are expecting something more akin to VelociCoaster, but the layout nor park makes sense for something like that. A step above Hagrid’s, but still not too intimidating.

I don't know what it'll be, but it should be noted HRRR doesn't have any inversions so I doubt the replacement will have them either.

I wouldn't count out the possibility of it being more intense. While Rockit is not the most intense coaster out there, it's appearance from the outside is fairly intimidating for those not well versed in coasters. In addition to the ride's imposing lift tower, I've observed that it doesn't register for a fair amount of people that the loop is actually non-inverting. As it stands, I'm unsure if Rockit is perceived as more approachable than the park's other high thrill coasters, even if it is in reality.

Oh totally, inversions don't automatically make it super intense. The most intense and intimidating coasters I've ever been on don't/didn't have inversions! I just think they're going "ok something of this kind, just make it work and not bad".

The coasters Studios has don’t have inversions, so I feel like there’s a gap to fill with a more intense coaster, not a less.

Have people even actually heard from sources it will be FNF? Or is this all speculating? Like what do we ACTUALLY think will happen?

(Red is a closing date, yellow is contruction, green is opening)
Looking at timelines, it'll be interesting to see how fast this project goes up. VelociCoaster & Hagrid's had about 2 year timelines, while the original Rockit was only 1.5 years. The latest this replacement opens is Q2 of 2027 with demo starting in Sep of this year.

The Pokemon & F&F replacement timelines listed here is pure speculation. Theory is that if this coaster is themed to F&F, the F&F attraction would close prior to this debuting. You don't want people mistaking the current attraction for the new one. This would then allow them the opportunity to have something open between Rockit's replacement and Pokémon.

For Pokemon/Springfield, there are two red closures. First is for the attraction itself, 2nd is for the land itself. This will give USF a solid 3 years of new attractions from 2027-2029.

For the meantime, I've ignored taking into consideration either Lost Continent or Epic Phase 2 projects into the timeline.

I like how the grammar here implies both Comcast and Potter took complete control of the parks, and oh boy if that ain’t the truth lol

Give it a few years and switch Potter for Nintendo.
