Funny thing; I've been thinking on where it'll go. It won't be in the HOH expansion but if what Orlandos has to show..I'm wondering about Cartooniversal. I'm just guessing here by the way since whats going on at Orlando..

Nah, I think it would replace Cartooniversal or one of the existing stores.

Possibly, but Cartooniversial is also due for a facade makeover, and I'd think they'd want to get Hello Kitty in ASAP.

They said Orlando is getting one first by the end of the year and Hollywood would follow after that. I agree, Cartooniversal would be a more logical location for the Hello Kitty store/Meet & Greet (Unless they make her a walking character).

From my understanding Hollywood is getting the first one followed shortly by Orlando.

I remember there being conversation here regarding having two Starbucks locations at the park. What if they do put one as part of the HOH replacement. Maybe that'll be the lone location in the park either when this HOH one opens or maybe after summer...I'll let everyone else debate the replacement of the lower lot one.

This is all pure conjecture.

Lot's of photos of House of Horrors replacement.  Probably too many for most folks taste but I really enjoy construction.  All this steel gives a sense of scale and proportion.  This is a much larger footprint than the prior occupants.  Also, I see a staircase so it'll be two stories of functional space, though I have no way of knowing if the second story will be for guests.  Gotta house all that merchandise somewhere, right?  I love the idea of views from the second story to observe Grinchmas, for example.  But it could be storage or mechanicals or who knows what.  Time will tell.

I am getting actually more excited on this for the Facadework than whats going in. I can't wait to see the finished building exteriors and possibly interiors.

Lots of work with steel today.  This girder was just raised by the crane and the workers are attaching it.  I saw welding in other portions of the roof.  This is going up quickly I'd say, though I have no idea what it's scheduled progress should be.

New retail building is much closer to having a complete roof.

New shape at corner suggests (to me) the building will mimic the deco tower from Universal Plaza.

Interesting that this portion of the building is so much taller.  I wonder if it will have different exterior theming.  And what will it look like from outside the park?

By complete roof I simply meant roof structure, in that it would soon be covered to the elements.  It's far from complete, of course.

Seeing this new structure in person was pretty odd. As a few have pointed out earlier, this is really taking up a good chunk of the main entryway rather than widening it. You can really get a feel for that when you see just how pushed out the construction walls are at the park. This makes me wonder if/when they'll get rid of Cartooniversal, the Hollywood Grill, and possibly Feature Presentation in order to update the other side of the entrance plaza. Things will look a bit lopsided until then.

I agree this building is far too large.  We are actually losing space which I think could be good and bad.  Bad for crowds, but good because perhaps Cartooniversal merch will be moved into this location and wipe out the Cartooniversal building for more space!

I'm just hoping this building has a high guest capacity, whatever it entails. We need as many guests off that main path as possible.

Most of the structure has one layer of roof up which makes it look even bigger, at least to me. 

I have a question.  Do you think it's just coincidence that the British-themed construction walls line up with the two-story structure?  Also, only the two-story portion faces CityWalk side.  Do you think the two story building will have park access or egress from CItyWalk?  Passholder entrance gate, for example?  Or last gift shop before exiting to CityWalk?  Just pondering and would be interested in others thoughts.

I don't think its going to be announced at all. It'll probably pop up randomly on twitter saying to check it out.

Also, Inside Universals at the park and has noticed tarps have gone up on the side of the HOH replacement facing Universal Plaza
