Howl-O-Scream is doing limited time offers on tickets until July 21st.

Simon's Slaughterhouse and The Black Spot have been confirmed to return.

How in god's name does The Black Spot keep staying?

Yes, and Deadfall didn't stay quite as long as it should have

I know it's exciting seeing all the various icons getting mentioned/brought back. But it's hard to get excited for the event itself considering the quality has been slipping. They've still yet to make a slam dunk of a house that Death Water Bayou and Motel Hell are, they had the one hit wonder year with Demented Dimensions and Undead Arena. (The former shipped off to BGW and promptly neutered there, the latter scrapped since it wasn't any good.) An as for last year, Insomnia was decent but didn't move the needle in rankings. An as for Simon's Slaughterhouse, well I don't think anyone still knows why it was touted as 17 and up.

An to this day, the Black Spot still remains. A house that's been a whiff since it's first year.

Most likely a anniversary house of sorts? If they're gonna play up the icons returning, that would be good use for them.

It's a shame because I went to HOS in 2017 and actually really enjoyed it, but seeing how they've played the new house game just is not making me wanna come back.

Demented Dimensions was such a fun and repeatable concept that they could've easily just modified a few rooms over the years. I thought Undead Arean was fun, but I get why it was scrapped. I think it was way more fun than what Simon's Slaughterhouse looks like though.

Insomnia and the possible "icon" house here would be the only pulls for me.

No idea what the theme of it is, but the name is interesting. Definitely could see the house be icon-related.

Feels like we got cheated outta demented dimensions, I'm still salty about it. Bringing back slaughterhouse only worsens the blow.

Hopefully they've made changes to Slaughterhouse. It could have been completely reworked for all we know.

I believe BGW did a 'vault' type haunted house with scenes from their past years. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a similar concept here.

Looking at the website, I did notice two things.

One, Simon's Slaughterhouse is no longer touting it's recommended 17 and up. Makes sense since that was nothing but a garbage hype gimmick which fell flat on it's face. (An considering they've had a few unique houses which required a waiver in the past, it's a tad embarrassing they stooped to that.)

Second, the Black Spot's name is now "The Black Spot: Bloodshed". Reminds me of past houses which got a little extra addition to their name, sometimes indicating a change. (eg. Vampire Casino: Reversal of Fortune which had werewolves added to the mix that year.), though sometimes there wasn't much of a change. Considering the house description doesn't even mention that, I think it's the latter.

Simon's had potential to be great with the separation moment at the beginning, but you immediately rejoin your group.

Also, I feel the newer houses are too wide open...It's a problem that three people can fit next to each other in a haunted house.

My husband and I are planning to visit HOS for our first time in September. We've done many haunts, and we have been to BGT before, but never an HOS, so any advice would be appreciated.

We aren't going to have time to buy a day admission, but we would really like to ride the attractions that are new since our last visit there: Cobra's Curse, Cheetah Hunt, and Falcon's Fury (we don't care so much about Tigirs, as we've been on that same model in many other parks). What are the lines like for those rides?

Website says they let in HOS tickets at 5pm... would we have time to get on those rides? Is there a hard close of the park between day and night operation?

We do love getting repeat visits to houses... are Front Line Fear passes run efficiently? Do you get repeat visits to houses, or just once per house?

FYI, we aren't passholders... since there aren't any Busch Garden parks in our area, it's not really worth it for us to get one, unless anyone would like to pay for them for us. :)

Fright Feast is the way to go, you get a buffet dinner, and are let into the park early to do the houses before guests are let in (btw, I've never been let in before 5pm with a regular ticket, so I'm not sure what the website is talking about)....You also get front of the line access for the first two hours of the event with Fright Feast...All in all, it's a great value and there is a good chance you could do a haunted house by yourself, which is just something HHN can't offer

Leave the rides till the end as lines will be rather short most of the time. Finish the houses first (you'll get to them all in time before they let regular guests through if you hurry)

Thanks for that info! The site says they let in HOS tickets at 5pm, not before 5pm.

A few more follow up questions: are the Fright Feast benefits the same (aside from the food, of course) as the Front Line Fear? You mention Fright Feast gets front of the line access to haunts, but for only two hours? Does Front Line Fear offer one time access through each haunt, or unlimited? Is Front Line Fear the only one that includes rides as well?

I'm asking now because of the sale going on for tickets. And that sale doesn't currently include or mention Fright Feast. Could we buy an admission now, and add the Feast later?

It has been a while, but I imagine you'd be let in to wait in line until the houses open (7 or 8pm, can't remember)...Let me know if you find anything out about that

HOS tickets have always allowed access from 5pm so you can ride rides for the last hour of regular park ops. You can then wait in the park and get straight into the houses when they open at 7:30 (they often open earlier if they are ready)

I don't remember that, but I do remember having to wait a while for the houses back in the day

Again, I feel Fright Feast is a great way to go

Just confirming that yes, the tickets do let you in starting at 5. And like sheikra38 mentioned the Fright Feast would be another really good addition to that. We got in last year around 5:15 and there was nothing to eat as regular park operations were closing and everyone was getting ready for the event to open, switching menu items etc. So doing both when get you in to start doing rides, get you a really good meal, and then start doing houses and other rides.
