I wish I had a volcano view room at cabana bay. It's gonna be insane to see all those palm trees on their sides.

The park is absolutely beautiful- I was at Typhoon Lagoon in July and VB is significantly prettier in almost every way IMO.
The amount of detail is unreal- Disney has cool rock work and all- but the carvings and woodwork at VB really sets it apart.
It's going to be a shame to see it in Tuesday, but they can always rebuild. It's just stuff.

Longest line at WDW right now is SDMT and FoP at 60 mins... Most everything else is around 30 mins or less. Longest line at UOR is Gringotts at 35 mins. Great time to visit the parks if you're a local.

Yep, I'm at Epcot right now. Longest line is Frozen at 50 minutes, but it's been real easy to pick up fast passes, I assume they're opening up as people cancel.

Honestly, what's the point in keeping Epcot and MK open until 9? Especially with no fireworks... it's pointless. Just close earlier and let CMs get home.

I couldn't agree more, safety is more important than fun or money.

It will be interesting to see who disappears from here after the storm hits. I look forward to hearing your stories and experiences when you are able to reconnect.

2pm track update has Irma coming straight through where I live. We have never been hit by a hurricane head on here but the next few days look pretty hairy.

From what Ive heard there is the potential for southbound I75 to become accessible to northbound traffic instead.

I'll keep posting updates as long as I have service. I'm in Metrowest. 2.3 miles due north of Universal. We are on the bottom floor of a 3 story apartment building.

Oh thank god. I thought you were one of those people who ignore the mandatory evacuations and then put first responders at risk when you need to be boated out of your flooded home.

Stay safe man.

Homeless in Miami who refuse to take shelter are being baker-acted to force them into shelter for 72 hours.

Miami shelters homeless against their will as Irma closes in

Be safe bro. As someone that grew up in west palm and is now living in charlotte nc. My adrenaline is still going watching this unfold. Andrew. Jean. Francis. Wilma. Charlie. All sucked. This is a monster. Got family in royal palm and tons of friends in lauderdale.

You seem to be in a good spot and are prepared. Please keep us posted.

Just a few housekeeping notes for the site.

As I'm anticipating a loss of power at some point starting Sunday, I will not have access to the site.

In the event you need to reach someone about the main site, reach out to Jonathan Green (jonathan.g@insideuniversal.net). Drew will be handling administrator privileges. If you have any forum questions, make sure to reach out him or the rest of mod team.

Until then, I'll be around.

I have three different ways to charge my iphone: a portable phone charger, a laptop I never use, and a car auto-jumper that has a USB port.

I will be on the interwebz as much as possible.

Small note for me and my family. Royal Pacific didn't have a room Sunday for us. Clearly they wouldn't boot us out if there were forced road closures; however, if there wasn't- I'm out to find a place. They assured me they would keep working on it but rather than wait I took the guarantee to book the contemporary at Disney. So I'm now heading there tomorrow at 1pm for Saturday and Sunday night. They did, obviously, refund me and give me a 1pm checkout. I Even booked chef mickeys brunch at 2:30. In my defense, it was the only restaurant open- and in my opinion it might be the biggest disaster of the day :D

Thanks for the thoughts everyone- I had a conversation with my oldest today and reminded her and my wife to keep their cool regardless of what happens and to show their appreciation continuously to the staff. They have families, homes, pets and possessions. And they're choosing to serve us during a disaster. All of us guests need to remember that.

On a side, good note- outside of the fantastic weather and crowds we've had the last 3 days- My buddy Chef Ryan at Tchoup Chop made our family maybe 5 Lbs of fried rice and fried cauliflower. So at the very worst- we have plenty of food and won't be forced to eat Mickeys PB&Js.
