Willing to bet Fun Spot will be opening something large as well to avoid losing the evening crowd to stiff competition popping up all over I Drive. Then there is the Old Town Project...

I don't know how good the preshow will be, but the Merlin folks told me it is a custom 4D film about the history & geography of central Florida.

No doubt, they are potentially one of the big losers here, along with Sea World and Downtown Disney.

You heard anything substantive about this? The rides have already been torn out, I assume to make room for construction equipment. Drinking there last night I was thinking what an underdeveloped opportunity that place is.

I'd think City Walk is at more risk of losing business than DTD. It's closer to the properties being built and if you try to go before a certain time, you have to pay to park. Parking at every other place will be and is free.

Not to mention that DTD is pretty far off from any of the I-Drive work.

Good points. But CityWalk seems to be going more for unique restaurants, I-Drive is (largely) more nightlife-driven, which seems to be the intent of the new "Landing" at DTD as well, even if they refuse to announce that. But yeah, CityWalk will probably take a hit as well.

Tourist traps have always existed, I wouldn't look too much into it...it will be nice for those staying on I-Drive..otherwise, probably not an issue

The way I look at it is anything that drags people off of Disney property is good for everyone but Disney. And I do believe that the increase of quality additions on I-Drive will drag some people off of Disney property.

Did you know at one point Church Street Station was the #2 attraction in Florida? PI and a demographic shift killed it off, but don't rule out a solid nightlife district, which is what I-Drive is assembling by committee.

It will be very interesting but I-drive still has a huge fatal flaw. The current roads are not adequate for the current level of traffic let alone an increase in traffic. And there's no room or will to expand the roads or transportation systems.

Just watched a video on YT about this and they state that their will be a 5th attraction, yet to announced. Forgive me if it's already here, but any idea what the 5th attraction is? Anything to get excited about?

They already have 23 of the 30 capsules up as of this afternoon! They should be done in just another day or two...

They installed the last capsule today so it shouldn't be too long for completing the wiring and testing. I've heard late March (in time for spring break).

Word is they are pre-selling tickets for May. Looks like they want to get the attractions going by Summer.
