Idiot "Sneaks" in IoA for the Night

If you watch Adam the Woo's second youtube channel (The Daily Woo), the latest episode uploaded today (from yesterday) shows him being escorted off Uni property and banned indefinitely from UO Resort. He said it was for a video he uploaded in 2012- possibly the Nick Studios one? Looks like there's no statute of limitations on being banned from the parks!

It's definitely the Nick Studios video that got him banned... that's pretty much the only Universal video he ever did where he wasn't supposed to be. Someone definitely helped him with that whole thing though as one does not simply walk into a Soundstage unseen... obviously doesn't justify it though.

I do find it odd that they'll let employees back that have messed up worse in the past than him but they will ban guests indefinitely.

That is a very possible scenario, although I have my doubts as to how close security monitors stuff like that. I guess if they have you on a "list" and you ring something up, it could alert security and at that point it's just finding him (he probably isn't far from where he bought the product).

Adam probably didn't think twice about using a credit card as it had been so long since he made that video. He doesn't make videos like that anymore... most of them are just of mundane, everyday things.

It's a lot easier than you would think to go somewhere you're not supposed to go in a theme park. In fact just yesterday I went to the Fallon grand opening, they had people guiding us to the AP area at Finnegans. They were actually just standing there not pointing and I ended up in the wrong area. As I sat down to have what I thought was my continental breakfast in Monsters cafe, I realized I was eating with all of the TV crew people. Thanks to people posting on Twitter I realized I should be in Finnegans so headed over. I walked through a couple of mazes of various different things being set up. I walked right in front of security guards who didn't question me at all.

I highly doubt it's anything that sophisticated. They probably had planned this and either new he was there or saw him come in and just waited for him at the exit. The other possibility is he did something in the park that got their attention and they had known about his video.

This entire week Universal executives/management have been roaming the parks, specifically Fallon area, and he spent a considerable amount of time in the same area. All it takes is one security guard to alert a manager that he's there.

If this was around the time he got banned from Disney when he was actually making the videos that would be one thing but to do it this long after, when he has stopped doing those kinds of videos, and with their new media mentality it seems strange. I have worked at UOR and other parks so I will attest getting places can be rather easy.

However, Soundstages and - in your case - a film crew's breakfast, are just things that shouldn't happen. Security should be better in those areas than it is in actuality. How would they not even question you? Were you wearing all black?

Sometimes just having the confidence to actually do something can be enough to convince people that you belong. Even simply putting on a high vis vest can be enough to get into most places.

Yeah confidence is definitely it. In my example I thought I was in the right place so had no reason not to be confident. I was wearing my normal clothing but I don't normally look too touristy, although if they looked closely I was wearing the blue UOAP wristband they gave me.

I've spent a lot of time in backstage areas at Disney, Universal and many hotels in every instance people are generally reluctant to question you so long as you look like you belong. There's a video on YouTube of some guy that hosted his own backstage tour at Epcot. The only issue he had was everyone was taking photos, he was even approached by a manager but confidently explained what he was doing and the manager said ok just keep your group from taking photos.

Speaking to the reason most CM/TMs are reluctant to ask if someone belongs confidence does play a factor, you're right. CM/TM's are in and out of costume backstage, so it's not unusual to see someone in plain clothes back there. As long as they look like they know what they're doing, there's no reason to question.

That said, it shouldn't work on security since if they are actually doing their job, there would be some sort of check. I have been routinely stopped backstage at both Disney and Universal as an employee by security since it's their job to patrol certain areas, even once they knew me, because they knew cameras were watching them.

The only video is what he posted... which isn't much more than being escorted out. I actually almost wonder if he knew this was a possibility to happen and he did this to cause a stir within his fanbase. It's not like he lives in Orlando anymore, he travels around the country.

He seems like the type, but then I understand it was his shouting at the Rock during the taping that got him noticed. More than half of what I hear turns out to be nonsense, but if that's true, it doesn't seem like the kind of thing you can plan.

In the video he did not mention being treated in a horrible matter nor did anyone who was there reported such a thing.
