Ghostbusters helped do the trick too, right?

Not to my knowledge, pretty much any accounts that talks about the creation of the PG-13 rating always point to Temple of Doom and Gremlins for being the films which led to it. (Both of which Spielberg were involved with, not Ghostbusters.)

Can we please please please get Troy Baker to do the voice acting? And while we are at it replace the voice at the DL one?

It might be my favorite ride of all time…but that voice is inexcusable.

Well worth reading this whole piece. I think, in general, most of this sounds incredibly encouraging:
blogmickey.com

Maya at the Mouse: Rare Inside Look at Collaboration Between Imagineering & Mayan Experts for Tropical Americas Project

The second-annual Maya at the Mouse conference took place this weekend, and it highlighted the collaboration between Imagineers and experts
blogmickey.com blogmickey.com

Only a couple potential issues:
1. Imagineers should beware being so reverential of the historical background that it impedes the ability to fully satisfy what everyone would want from an Indiana Jones ride as an experience (thrilling, a little scary, sends you back into the park exhilarated).
2. They've ruled out Kukulkan and Quetzalcoatl as being part of the story, so it's unclear from where the animal or "beast from folklore" connection is going to come.

But as I said, overall, it sounds like this team really "gets" Animal Kingdom, which means at least the Indy portion of Tropical Americas is in good hands.

I'm actually looking forward to this attraction more than anything else being developed at WDW or Universal. Numero Uno on my list.

Nintendo-esque left-field choice to use Crystal Skull era Indy as the Indy for this attraction.

I like the name, sounds like it could have been one of the 1990s Indy novels.

Imagineers discussing the attraction specifically highlighted "monstrous bats," "giant scorpions," and the titular serpent creature. And the ride will be a journey into the underworld with Indy having to escape the serpent.

Sounds good to me!

Idk if it is. Seems like it’s between Crusade and Skull era. So a late 90s story.

They did say it's sometime in the '50s pre-CRYSTAL SKULL.

I suspect that's more because Ford might be voicing, and he doesn't sound like '30s Indy anymore!

I took it that you meant like a "lost" movie in between CRUSADE and SKULL... which would have been made in the '90s!

Yeah they suspiciously left out anything about the voice, but it would certainly be weird to have Ford’s face with someone else’s voice.

Now let Disneyland have de-aged Ford AA’s with Troy Baker’s voice!

Disney's official PR write-up of the announcement promises a "gigantic" AA figure of the serpent.

Needless to say, I'm getting excited.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a fun show if you're in the room, but this talk show/awards show gimmick with comedic and musical interludes is rrreeaalllyyyy drawing this out as a viewer at home.
