I honestly don’t fault any company from holding off opening anything right now. Whether it be a new theme park attraction, a theatrical released film, or anything else.

Sure, it’s for business reasons, but they’re businesses.

I’m bummed, but I’m not going to be mad about it.

Alternatively, there are folks upset that Universal Japan opened Nintendo when international visitors aren’t allowed to visit. Some were upset they opened some HHN houses last year when out of towners couldn’t visit without two weeks of quarantine. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Yeah, I'm all done with the Covid hot takes lol

Truth is, nobody has any idea what they're doing because we've never been through this before

Right now, this is a completely fluid situation. Early results from the vaccines are promising and they're rolling out faster than expected. We could hit July and things could be mostly back to normal.

I don't blame Busch for wanting to keep an ace up their sleeve. IIf the vaccine rollout is as successful as we're hoping, there is zero chance that it opens in 2022.

July 4th weekend would be a good target.

Someone was told that the park does not know how to operate a new coaster with the current COVID guidelines in place.

Iron Gwazi is opening in 2022. And it is a stupid PR failure for the company.

I’m angry at Busch for delaying the ride from its spring opening. By then, no one will be interested to ride it at all. All the anticipation has died.

You have to hire new staff to operate the ride and test it regularly. But what they are doing is to purposefully delay it until COVID restrictions ease off.

I am never visiting Busch Gardens ever again until they open that coaster. I want it open now!

I completely understand SWE being far more hesitant than Universal and Disney here. I think those who were excited for IG will still be excited when it opens. If we’re assuming a ‘22 opening, Cosmic Rewind appeals to a completely different crowd, so I wouldn’t worry. No disrespect meant to Guardians because I really like the property, but I’ll still be far more excited about IG.

There is NO reason to assume a 2022 opening beyond random internet pessimists. None.

That guy might be a bigger pessimist than me.

I really thought that there was a 200' height limit in FL because of hurricanes until recently. Likely because Mako and Shiekra were right at 200' (Goliath too).

The SkyTower is 425 feet tall so there’s really no other reason than real estate and money, and probably more the first than the second. If you tried to cram a giga into the Mako plot, you’d probably cause people to black out in the turns. Also I thought Sheikra was one of the first few dive coasters after Oblivion, so 200 feet was still a trendy height for marketing at the time.

Now the savanna at Busch Gardens? No excuse to not build one (I’m kidding).

I mean... *I* would still go on it.

There are only four normal gigas in the US so I don’t know how many people have seen/been on one, but what struck me the most about Millennium Force was just how massive the entire thing was, not just the lift hill. I always wondered why more parks didn’t have 250-300’ coasters, but everything has to be profiled different to account for going 85-90 MPH instead of 60-65 and that takes up a ton of real estate.

IG will probably be my first RMC so I think what I’m looking forward to the most is seeing how the g-forces feel on some of the impossible looking turns. Can’t get that from a POV.

Funny thing is Mako was supposed to go to Busch Gardens

Ironically a coaster is probably the last structure I'd be worried about in a hurricane...

There's really nothing for the wind to push on and the amount of force needed to 'push one over' would mean we have a much bigger issue in Tampa lol

Theoretically they could be damaged by flying debris...but otherwise they're safe

You're confusing it with the FAA regulation that anything taller than 200 ft would need to be reviewed if an airline warning light needs to be placed ontop.

Some people get confused with Disney refusing to build over 200ft as well.

Yeah, but with Shiekra and Mako there's a bit less of a concern with thematic integrity. But, land plots and all.

SeaWorld has never had thematic integrity as a priority.
