Pokemon is pretty much all but confirmed for IOA. But I'm intrigued at what other parks beyond Orlando will get Pokemon. Could they work it in for Hollywood? Maybe a land at Beijing? The possibilities are endless.

I think it comes to every park/resort.

My guess is Pokemon comes to USH, it will be the Simpsons replacement for that park. Perhaps what might have been for USF before plans shifted to IOA.

That video transformation is AI the user made as an example btw, and not official.

Assuming it does the kind of numbers in merch that Nintendo does, these lands will easily pay for themselves in no time.

Get ready for empty merch shelves due to scalping if the Pokémon Trading Card market is anything to go by. Especially for anything park exclusive.

I can see Pokémon eventually making it to most/all of the Universal parks around the world. It is obviously well-suited to be a land, but unlike Mario, it can more easily work as a singular attraction in parks with more restricted space to work with.

This is arguably a bigger deal than Mario was. If it hadn't basically been soft-confirmed for like, 6 years now, this would be the hypest moment imaginable.

Sincerely hope they deliver on this. Pokémon is huge and incredibly fitting for a theme park format. Power fantasy role-playing game, with primary themes of exploring natural and urban areas, discovering exciting monsters with all kinds of flashy elemental powers, collecting items and creatures using bespoke technology, bonding with your group and fighting against bad guys, and shopping. This could be a cash and marketing juggernaut for UDX if they pull it off right.

Tsumugimu was out with a video a few months ago making a realistic prediction of what Pokemon at USJ will look like:
  • New York likely to be rethemed to something like "Pokemon New York Street", as opposed to the entire area being exclusively rethemed to Pokemon. In other words, Pokemon in the real world as opposed to us entering Pokemon world. This is due to NY's importance to the park via Gramercy Park, HHN, etc.
  • Area will include: E-ticket attraction, shops, restaurant, interactive elements
  • Attraction will likely be a full gut and replace
  • Unsure if the Spider-Man track will be reused. The track is laid in concrete, so it would be easiest for them to reuse it, but recent patents could indicate trackless instead.
  • Best guess is the attraction is another AR-featured interactive attraction like Mario Kart
  • Detective Pikachu could be incorporated into the attraction or land
  • Possibly a permanent interactive exhibit going into Palace Theater.
  • Area will likely use some kind of Power-Up Band-esque interactive element (Pokedex?)
Disclaimer that this is all informed speculation, not insider info.

Setting aside the rumored details, that's actually a pretty fascinating peek at what the parks fandom looks like in another country.

For USJ's sake, hopefully they're finding ways to distinguish the dark ride from Mario Kart (if they're going the AR route).

My confidence in Pokemon replacing USH Springfield shot up the remaining 20% from the 80 it was at before. Pokemon is going to be the new Potter, this will be the biggest expansion (minus Epic as a whole) since Forbidden Journey was first added to each park. They're going to make an absolutely obscene amount of money

Dear god....please for the love of everything do not bring Pokemon to the smallest land at USH that is also land locked

At this point I can wait for it to be done right, look at SNW its great but they messed up because it can't really do much else for years.

Pokemon is big enough and has enough variety to expand if need be so put it in the lower lot and leave some room aside if the land is bigger then Potter/SNW were bring on a second ride and more band games. I know its unpopular for USH fans they want everything to just be one little thing and move on but Pokemon is different

The people who don't get it cool but those into Pokemon are into it and the fact 30 years later the cards are still selling out, they make record profits on apps and people keep buying the games even if they look like Wii games shows just how much a hold this series has on the public

In Orlando take over simpsons land because you have room near it to add on more if needed but USH I think needs to play Pokemon very smart, it can make or break the future of the park if they do the band games right, if they make Pokemon Go 2.0 USH and all the parks will be printing money and having more APs then ever by a mile

But if Simpsons kicking the bucket is the only way it comes to USH, it is still better then nothing at all.

I just don't care how much merch a franchise moves and I don't understand why anyone on here does, either. If Universal is able to come up with a great attraction, I'll be happy. All the other stuff sounds like the concern of someone with a lot more skin in the game than me.
