I went through this the other night. It's a gorgeous walkthrough and slightly longer than I expected. Did it need to take several years to build and be hyped up as a standalone new attraction? Of course not. Good thing Epcot just had two major rides open in the past couple years, because this could have been the "big" Epcot in a different timeline.

So, overall this thing is fun for the kiddos, but I stick by my original thought: The one-way walkthrough design is a mess. Should have been a more open area that kids could explore at their leisure. My kid wanted to do two things: The first station with the musical water and the final area with all the fountains to play in. Having to go through the entire thing so they could do those things back to back was a pain.

Still, since Epcot lacks a real play area (since I guess Play pavilion is dead in the water), it is a good addition overall.

This was down almost the entire day we were there last week and it opened up about 7pm. We got in and the storm clouds absolutely opened up on us. Needless to saw I definitely experienced the journey of water

It was a bit smaller than I was anticipating but my daughter loved it and it’s a nice addition to Epcot. Something to do between lightning lanes and a way to cool down.

Never thought this would close due to weather but I guess it makes sense. Although if you're already wet from rain, what better time then to go in on this attraction?

It wasn’t due to weather, it was just down most of the day. Then we finally got inside and a storm rolled through and they kept making announcements like “inclement weather is approaching which may cause Journey of Water to close”.

I have no idea if they did close during the downpour, I’m guessing yes, but after it passed and we spent some time near the end when we exited people were entering so if it did close it went right back up.

I’d assume they were having trouble getting the water effects working which is why it wasn’t open. As for rain…. It does take CMs staffing this so perhaps they close to let them inside?
