I went on saturday and boy did I miss that ride... the park was hell and there was no water ride to go to (proper water ride since I know all rides, including popcorn stands, have water effects). By the way I am really concerned about this park in the summer... I was there in a non peak season and it was packed... it's hell to go to the lower lot... It was really packed. I don't know how are we going to survive this summer....

I may just skip the park all summer unless I go at opening and leave by noon. I've done this too long to even dream about going on a summer day with DM here.

I've got bad news for you, Adriana. Despicable Me has officially made crowds a norm at our park, and this is before Springfield, Night Tours, Fast & Furious, and Harry Potter. ...as if you didn't already know this. ;)

Yeah haha, I think we need to start little by little getting used to heavy crowds and there being almost no off season. With all these additions, it's absolutely inevitable, so we better start getting used to it.

That's the price to pay for a better USH. I'll take the bigger crowds with better additions ANY DAY over a crappy 2004 USH and lighter crowds. For too long, being the eleven year old I was, have I looked around the park saying, "Why can't we get rides like Spider-man and have more rides?" Now the park is MUCH better off than I ever would have imagined being that age. If I had gotten in a DeLoreon, went back one decade ago, and told myself what's coming to the park around this time, I would have crapped my pants in excitement.

I just went off on that little ramble to say, bring on the crowds and bring on the better USH. I'm glad some TLC is being poured into this park.

^ I agree. While not all the recent additions were great and some were controversial, USH is definitely improving. A lot. It's just like with DCA. I'd rather see a busy DCA with amazing new theming and details and rides and lands rather than the cheap crap from 2001.

So JP officially re-opened today. Has anybody been on it? Any changes worth mentioning?

Got a chance to ride it today. It's purely cosmetic changes and maintenance. Still disappointed with the slack jawed spitters and jittering animatronics. You'd think after equaling the admission price to disneylands one day ticket they'd have the money to maintain their ride to their standards...maybe next refurb.

As far as cosmetic changes I've noticed: Some painfully fake flowers were added to the first lagoon. The "lava" in stegosaur springs is brighter. A sign reads "parasaur" is added before the "sudden" detour.

OH and i remember once that Allen the actor mentioned the missing warning sign hanging just before the chain lift that takes you indoors. its back up there

^ The hanging sign has been there for a quite a while now actually.

I hate the fake flowers and that throw up ketchup mustard looking lava. So frikin pointless and disgusting.

I'm really disappointed but not surprised. Hopefully they can update the ride this next winter. Like, properly. Close it from September to November/December and install new animatronics and update the damn ride. Have it looking brand new for Jurassic World next year, and in general since #1 it looks horrible #2 It's the ONLY ride with complicated animatronics in the park #3 Park doesn't have that many rides #4 Price increase should make them do it #5 Guests deserve better than that. #6 The franchise deserves better than that. #7 FIX IT!!!!!

They should close it from January to March to leave it in prime condition for the release of the movie and for spring break...

It was a bad call to have the animatronics out in the open like that. I remember seeing a documentary on the ride that the creators pitched it being mostly enclosed and hide most of the dinosaurs under some sort of canopy or tree to prevent outdoor wear and tear. But universal didn't listen. Now they have to deal with sun bleached dinosaur skin and seizure induced spitters.

Well, it does actually seem highly logical that the sun would
cause damange to the animatronics. Sun = Hotter parts, when metal heats, it expands.
When it expands, it probably warps to some degree and I'm sure that probably why a lot of the dinosaurs
cannot reach their full range of motion. But it probably more-so the abundence of bad/old actuators. I've worked with animatronics in the past.
I used to do the maintence on the Chuck E. Cheese robot at my old job, in most cases its a simple as swapping out linear actuators and maybe
cleaning/replacing lines or filters and whoala. I just wish they'd at least fix the "longnecks" (don't know their proper name) and the
ones before the waterfall to look like they are eating again. I remeber watching the video from 1997 and couldn't belive my eyes when I
saw how far the dinosaurs head went. Now, it makes sense to see why they program the dinosaur to put its head up and down. lol

Maybe I'm just being optimistic here, but what if part of the maintenance was a new company surveying the ride to replace all of the animatronics for the 2015 season.

Just a wild guess, but I assume Universal is going to get the most out of Jurassic World.

They could add a lot of trees to fix the sun problem.... the only thing better in IOA is that the ride has a lot of trees. But seriously this ride needs love soon.

Wait that red crap is lava? I don't know, I thought it was... gore or something. A fresh dinosaur kill/An ominous sign early on that something isn't right.
That's cooler than stupid painted lava.

I'd surely appreciate some attempt at covering up the view of the Frankenstein parking structure in the first scene, along with Super Silly Fun Land's enormous spires and cute monsters. Not exactly... menacing.

The ride definitely needs more expansive and tall foliage to make it look more tropical and encompassing, like USJ/IOA's version.
