I think using the fact that Fallen Kingdom looks bad as evidence that it won't do well is moot, when considering that Jurassic World was already pretty bad and did gangbusters.

Yea, I’m excited for anything with dinosaurs. And I like the darker tone and new director.

I feel like the characters didn't connect much in the first movie and the trailers leave me feeling like why should I care about any of it? I'm sure it will do great numbers and if that Gyrosphere ride is awesome, then I hope we get it as it could be a really unique ride for Universal.

I'll be shocked if Fallen Kingdom drops below 1B. It's in for a pretty big drop in the states, but overseas will still be there for it.

I mean, to each their own, but I’ve seen 0 people say it looks any good. It looks really, really bad. Only reason I’ll probably see it is because I have MoviePass

To each their own. Honestly, after all the trailers I saw during the Super Bowl, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom is the ONLY one I'm excited for. Mission Impossible looks tired, Solo looks awful(can't replace Harrison Ford), and Avengers is basically just a rehash of what's already been shown.

Kids love Dino's. Foreign audiences will eat it up. I expect it to make at least a billion.

I don't believe any rumors about what's going over there until we're at a more firm state. As far as i'm concerned, everything is fluid and could change at any point.

There's been a lot of fluidity with JP for a long time, and the success of JW made it even moreso.

I wouldn't be sad to see it go honestly. There's just wayyyy too much dead space in the land.

*EDIT* I should probably preface this by stating this is in regards to only rethemeing the River Adventure Ride (and from what I've heard from the Hollywood version), not necessarily any expansion plans for Orlando.

UC had been hesitant on doing a cheap and quick retheme of JP due to fear of a negative reaction from the public. GOTG was expected to be a huge failure but when it opened it became the highest rated attraction at Disneyland. This gave them confidence to move forward an the quick overturn.

Ahh. Point taken.

But the fluidity of the JP expansion/redo plans has been around since even before GOTG: Breakout was a thing. They’ve been toying with several ideas before JW released. Once that became the Uber success it was, it became even more fluid.

Even if JWFK underperforms here, I think Universal will still go ahead with it in the third park. The franchise is timeless, and dinosaurs sell.

Jurassic Park is timeless.

In 10-15 years someone will walk through a Jurassic World land and say, "Why the hell did they build a land of the half-butted reboot?

I disagree. It makes perfect sense to me as far as theme park lands go.

If they can pull of the tech and the Gyro ride is as good as it should be, it's a no brainer. It's one of those movie things that just screams for a ride and that it belongs to one of the biggest franchises ever just makes it more likely to happen. After that, how JW2 did is irrelevant.

Well, that's the thing, isn't it? Do a gyrosphere ride "for real," and the potential upside is enormous. Do it via... other methods... and I don't see it topping River Adventure.
