Very happy that this ride is receiving love and getting a new track. Hope Space is next.

I only want Space re-tracked if it keeps the same layout!

I have an urge to pull up in a truck and say "load it in back!" It's a dream to get my hands on a piece of coaster track someday for my house. Practical? Not at all but it would definitely be a conversation starter. haha

I can't wait to see this done! Last time I rode this was something over 15 years ago. Looking forward to riding this when it's nice and shiny.

I think it's worth discussing that we have effectively seen Disney pull a New Frontierland on us without announcing that project, like a frog boiling in a pot, wearing a big cowboy hat.

- New Country Bear Jamboree show
- Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure
- Major Big Thunder Mountain Railroad renovation / retrack
- Complete removal of River's of America and Tom Sawyer's Island, major addition of a new Cars E-Ticket
- "Renovation" of Frontierland Shooting Gallery
- Daily Ops Country Bears walk-around characters

Even moving into Liberty Square, we got Hatbox Ghost in Haunted Mansion and I'm sure we'll see some changes to HoP soon.

Might we see a new sign or name for the land to signal this direction they've been leaning in recently?

What do you guys think of "New Frontierland" so far, as it were?

  • Country Bears -- Fine.
  • Tiana -- Fine.
  • Big Thunder Retrack -- Good.
  • Rivers of America/Tom Sawyer Island/Liberty Belle Removal -- Terrible.
  • New Cars Area (sight unseen) -- Fun concept, terrible location.
  • Shooting Gallery Closed for Exclusive/Inaccessible DVC Lounge -- Bad.

I feel I’m the only one who doesn’t hate this. To be fair, this was never my favorite area of MK but I’m intrigued by it’s modernization including the Cars ride. It currently feels outdated. I love it, but being realistic here.

I used to like the TS Island, but it got old after a while. Even the girls, 10 and 11, on their first trip to MK this year, had no desire to go on the island or the Liberty Belle. I'm glad to see the change.

I sadly, don’t know any young child who wouldn’t a Cars attraction here. People love Disney music (thank you country bears), including your only Black Princess in a ride is important (thank you Tiana’s), and thunder mountain has needed a re-do for a bit (thank you this refurb!). I’m intrigued by the change here. It’s for a new generation.

There is/was room for a Cars attraction "beyond" Big Thunder, and everybody would be happy.

To destroy the scenic and atmospheric heart of Magic Kingdom -- the Rivers of America -- for anthropomorphic cars with goofy* eyes is a terrible choice.

* I like their goofy eyes. I don't want to see them from Frontierland.

Things for a "new" generation shouldn't always have to be coming at the expense of things I enjoy. There is plenty of room.

I say this with respect to feelings and vibes, and I if anything largely agree.

Kids do not care about the Rivers of America. It’s a lovely, chill attraction, that sadly, kids are not accustomed to these days. They’re on their phones constantly, and need immediate reactions or entertainment to their faces. If not, in my experience, large or not, kids face anxiety when not having some infront of them. An attraction here makes sense. Itll be seen on outside as something fun, adds capacity to the park, and ads and IP to MK and WDW.

I largely agree with you. I’m just stating how I view current trends (from New Hampshire)

So far it feels like some very disparate themes, time periods and styles (talking animals, talking cars, humans...). I realize Fantasyland is like that, but a potpourri like that definitely feels unusual for "new work" in a theme park in the modern era. If a Tony Baxter or Joe Rohde was behind this, I'd feel good. But based on recent WDI projects, I'm concerned it could be a hot mess of conflicting vibes, fumbled transitions, and poor sightline mitigation.

So far I think we need to look to start breaking into these areas into little pieces.

Tiana is one section and the Cars land will be another and not some over arching themed land.

If look at it that way instead of trying to fit square peg into a round hole then I really enjoy the changes. I do wish Rivers of America could have been spared but until Iger leaves this what we get.
