Taking the place of the former Sounds Dangerous and Path of the Jedi, the space will reopen as the Mickey Shorts Theater on March 4th:

Update from today. It looks... out of place to be kind. Needs paint at the very least.

It does look slightly out of place but idk, I think this is a good idea. Make DHS the Mickey park. Seems like a fun cool off for families during a day at DHS. They could always add more little things like this

I'm not actually against the idea of having this, I just think the exterior could use a boatload of red paint. Or at the very least a power washing.

Is it truly a unique short? It looks like a compilation of prior shorts with some animation to link them all together.
According to the DPB post on it it will be an original short:

Wait, this quote does make me think the new short is a connected compilation of prior ones like I mentioned:

“The original animated short, “Vacation Fun,” celebrates Mickey and Minnie’s favorite vacation memories, plus a few new adventures! “Vacation Fun,” which is exclusive to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, will feature new animation and clips from favorite Mickey shorts, including Panda-monium, Couples Sweaters, Potatoland, Croissant de Triomphe, Entombed, Dumb Luck, Al Rojo Vivo, Yodelburg and Outback at Ya!.”

it seems these shorts, based all around the world, will be linked together and portrayed as a trip(s) from Mickey and friends.

Yeah, cheap theaters showing movies are not theme park attractions. Seeing the Beauty and Beast sing along the other day and Awesome Planet cemented that for me.

It's sort of "here kids, watch things you can see on youtube in our theater that we didn't do anything to but we put a new sign out front".

Awesome Planet belongs nowhere near the same sentence as BatB.

Not everyone goes out of there way to be informed (the vast majority don't), which was what Epcot always did and what Awesome Planet and Canada Far & Wide do well.

Yeah, i was gonna say, most if not all people here (myself included) and most of the gp have not seen all or any of these shorts prior, and i don’t think they will outside of the park. it’s just a nice way so sit down a bit and make the gp more familiar with the shorts it seems.

And tbh, this theater is so small that it's hard for me to think of a better use for it anyway. At least it isn't showing the stupid Path of the Jedi thing anymore.

I enjoy the Imagiination Theater at Epcot that shows the cartoon shorts. Way more entertaining than I expected. This will be a nice respite from the heat, a chance to sit down, and slow things down a bit. I'd actually like to see more of these types of venues in the parks.

Stopped in here real quick after riding MMRR and yes, some of the animation is of the old shorts and some is new. I'd say it's about 50/50. The ending finishes with a very WDW specific animated shot of Mickey, Minnie and Pluto outside of the gates to MK and then the other park icons appear as well (for DHS they used the Chinese Theater, not ToT). This is a nice diversion, but it's also to get the uninitiated familiar with the "new" animation style of Mickey & the gang. This is something i'd suggest you take family to see before riding MMRR if they're expecting to see classic Mickey in the attraction.

The theater itself looks great, much better than the old, worn down, drabby look it previously had:

I watched a video of it, and the short looked pretty fun.
The story revolves around Mickey packing for a trip with Minnie. While choosing what to pack, different items give him flashbacks of his travels and adventures, which are the shortened clips of prior shorts put in (the sweater from the itchy sweater episode, potatoland merch from the potatoland episode etc)
