I really need them to stick a Bride of Frankenstein animatronic in between the brides escaping from the caskets and the Gill man scene. The catacombs are such a boys club...

I just got off Monsters Unchained and wow, absolutely loved it!! I am not a horror person and a couple of times I jumped, so the subtle jump scares are effective for people who aren’t into horror.

Unfortunately, both pre-shows weren’t running and the first Dracula and the first Wolfman were broken. Everything else was working including the final Dracula (at least what I could notice since it was my first ride).

After a month of letting it sit, here's my thoughts on the ride and it's a bit long so brace yourselves:

This is one of my favorite rides in the resort. The variety of figures is so refreshing, and some characters get multiple of them. For me, the appeal is less about the technology and more about how each figure is doing something unique. Mummy is hanging from the ceiling, Victoria wields a spear against the brides, Wolfman lunges at you, it all feels so dynamic and none of them are just standing there. (Well except for maybe Creature but he's kind of a jumpscare anyways.) Like Spiderman or Rise, this ride is one thrilling encounter after another, but what makes this one special is that the animatronics are the focal point. You get very close to some of them, and they're much bigger in person than on video.

I understand the ride could've been scarier (and even agree to an extent), but the tone is a great balance between spookiness, action and humor, and that's not easy to do! I wonder if the creative team looked at how rides like Alien Encounter and Dinosaur were received when brainstorming the scenes. Victoria and Igor add a ton of personality to this ride with great dialog. I see them as loveable hosts, like Dreamfinder and Figment, but in an edgier Universal way.

This thing is a beast operationally, staying below 30 mins even on a busy day. It's great to be able to walk right onto an E-ticket dark ride at any time of day, especially if you use single rider. The single rider for this ride is fast. I did this thing four times in a row and could've done far more if I wasn't so tired after a long day. I wonder what the record is for how many times you can do it in one day.

Some issues I had were the weird curtains visible in some transitions and the preshow wasn't working. Not sure how I feel about the finale Drac, he wasn't moving for me. For those who have seen him, does the effect look good at all?

Overall this was the standout experience of the park for me. My visit to Islands isn't complete without Spiderman, my trip to EPCOT isn't complete without Spaceship Earth, and I can gladly say the same about Monsters for Epic.

Also, I heard somewhere Creature had water beneath him during previews at some point? Was this ever true?

Finale Drac is weird, the flying effect is done exceedingly and the robotic arm is well-hidden, but (and I'm still not sure if this is intentional or not), he has an almost slow-motion movement to him? It's a cool effect of him getting close to your unit before getting blasted back, but it doesn't feel quite as threatening because he's sadly just not that fast.

Won't be at Epic until November. With the lines 'still' very long even after softs started in March and April, I'm kind of disappointed
that they haven't seemed to make significant progress with their downtime issues. But Monsters, with it's massive capacity, even with
some pre show issues, appears to go against that long line trend. This is really the only Epic attraction that I'm excited about. Monsters
surely seems to have delivered thrills, fun, and sky high guest satisfaction. Thanks to all of the posters that continue to give their in depth
views of this 'monster' attraction. Keep the reviews coming. :) :) :) :) :)

All AAs working and the preshow. Guess we can cancel the “should have used old AAs” takes.
