That patent totally spoiled Fantastic Beasts 2. We now know that Tony Stark is going to give Newt an Arc Reactor.

Agreed. The examples in the patent are just to be vague and allow for any and all patent protection. Can't take the examples seriously. Especially when the Volcano Bay patent on the fill-tank says it could be filled with red dye and simulate someone turning into a vampire. I highly doubt Universal will ever do that. LOL

Universal Monsters Themed Water Park next? But then again if we aren't suppose to take the patent seriously it could also be argued that the iron man suit is just an example as well.

Its also confusing as last thing with Iron Man was the Flying coaster than it became an Avengers ride so are we now back to iron man?

Which is about to be switched out cinematically for a new one

Yea, I don't believe that for a second.

Just because the ride vehicle of a ride may be an Iron Man suit, doesn't mean it won't be Avengers

Possibly, sure. We won't know until we know. I lean towards Iron Man solely because of the images, but that can totally be used for something different, yes. Eventually, we also have to look at the availability of space for such a ride and see if its feasible in MSHI, Hogsmead/Diagon, etc. Is there space for that? How much will be needed to make a big enough track + queue + merch + mechanical? How much of backstage can be absorbed by a new attraction, but still leave room for backstage operations?

Lots of questions, sure. I just saw a suit with an arc reactor and first thought was Iron Man. But yes, could be used for something else. But thats the fun of speculating! :)

I'd happily allow the sacrifice of Dr. Doom for an Avengers/Iron Man ride.

I'd rather see it replace TL Theater (Add don't replace), but I'd be cool with that too

Eh. The theatre is a big plot that could eventually be a part of a bigger land. Dr. Doom is completely pointless and just a terrible attraction. Easily one of the worst at UOR.

That doesn't seem like a good spot for Marvel expansion imo. Isn't there a backstage warehouse in MSHI available for expansion?

I don't necessarily disagree. I think Doom could be upgraded a bit to be better, but wouldn't miss it. I'd rather see additions rather than replacements, though

You'd have to take away Doom and Storm in that case. With the theater, you'd just have to extend the land a bit.

I really think that if removing Doom and Storm Force was in the plans, they would have rerouted the back half of Hulk. There is a lot of room they could have freed up there to expand into.

I'm not on board with a "Marvel" expansion. But whatever. Universal will do what they want.

I have to ask why? I'm not arguing against your point just curious.

There's plenty of room back there if Doom, Stormforce, and Carnage Warehouse are removed

Thoughts on VR being added to Dr Doom's similar to this:

I think this would be the best option if they decided to go down the VR route. Have The Thing throw you up into the air with the Human Torch flying up with you. Mr Fantastic then catches you as you fall back down and sling shots you back up before you hit the ground and then The Invisible Woman puts you in a force field and returns you safely back to the ground.
