T2 is perfect...I'd rather them not update it and risk messing up one of my favorites at the resort.

I agree, but can they at least update the preshow video? And bring in 4KHD?

The pre-show is a little outdated but it fits the attraction. Hard to update it without making the attraction itself seem bad (show better technology in the pre-show than the early model terminators they have in the auditorium). If they can get better video, get all the effects working, and get the fog/smoke to reach the back of the auditorium I'd be happy. If they don't do anything I wouldn't mind either since I still love T2.

They would be wise to get rid of it ASAP  Though I guess it is still popular..when I was there in January there were a ton of strollers parked all alongside the building (and in front of Despicable Me too), unless that was just people camping out for a parade view. With how fast Universal has been moving lately I would love to see them get rid of Shrek and upgrade T2 before Phase II opens so they can show off the best park possible to any and all new visitors.

Uni needs to slow down more than speed up. If you redo every attraction in a 5 year period, what are you going to do the next 15 to bring guests in. Uni is doing a phased approach where something is opening every year. This is smart on their part. If they move any faster, they will run the risk of running out of projects later down the road to pull guests back to their park. Uni can't afford to be Disney and wait 10 years to open a new attraction, they just don't have the current number of people vacationing every year no matter what to do that. Disney does, they draw people year after year with their name alone.

They still have Kidzone to do. They need to upgrade (and hopefully not replace) E.T. as well. They can knock down Twister any time they feel like it. Potter will draw people in for a few years on name alone. I understand needing to space everything out to give people a reason to come back, and to make sure attractions are really good rather than doing too many of them and some being of poor quality in the end. I'm also impatient. :P But if they were going to upgrade T2 after Hollywood's version closed, it's been a few months. If they're ready to go refurb it, let them do it.

I don't think the refurb is going to be slapping old parts from the Hollywood version. I think it is going to be new projectors, enhanced film, etc. It is going to bring everything up to the current tech like they did in Mummy and Spiderman. So they need money, order the stuff, and have the crew to do the work. Right now most of those resources are tied up into TF, Simpsons, and Phase 2. Then once JP starts (after simpsons) they will have that. I don't think they start this until phase 2 finishes. It also sounds like Disaster may be up before this.

Where's HTF to clear this up?

I actually feel as though they should continue to redo Universal Studios as its rather sad compared to IOA. They need a new KidsZone (should be Spongebob or something) and they need to upgrade E.T. and Terminator. Also, they should open up more shops and such between Terminator and Simspons as that area is dead.

I guess you are talking about the abandoned Garden of Allah section? I agree they have to do something with that area. I heard Spongebob is a big success, Supply Vault will be a huge success, and we will wait and see what Springfield offers. Then after Potter, they should be fine with merchandise until a possible Kidzone redo occurs.

I don't think Shrek is going anywhere anytime soon. They just re-did the M&G, and it's a pretty solid and popular franchise. It would be nice if they upgraded to 4KHD at least, or maybe even have a new HD film.

Actually, it would be very nice if they just continued to upgrade all the screen'd attractions to 4KHD

I still really enjoy the Terminator ride, maybe it's because I am such a fan of the movies. I wouldn't mind seeing twister go, it kind of bores me now.

You've got some heavy ones for mentioning the words "upgrade" and "ET" in the same sentence, let alone right next to each other. I like that. I think a thorough refurb to shine it up a bit would be nice, but I dunno about a full upgrade. I still love that ride.

I really think KidZone should be next on the chopping block. All the franchises in that area (besides the Spongebob store) are very outdated and not even appealing to the kids of this generation. They don't even have to level it, just re-theme areas to more popular kids shows (i.e. Spongebob). I'd like to see some of the great themeing work Universal has been doing lately.

I'm pretty sure they're still selling Walking Dead merch. I think it's a few shirts, posters, and I can't remember if there were any collectibles or not.

How exactly would one upgrade E.T. , or Twister? Terminatore 2 I can see.

ET's AA's are in pretty rough shape, along with the ride system.

Really? I have not been in over 2 years. Got to go check it out. One of my favorite rides, just from queue details inside!

Well ET for instance they could certainly add to the effects when being chased by the cops and with what Briman said, the AA's (especially the first couple) are looking like the manicans in JCPenny.

Twister- Update the pre-show a little and then the in-house effects need to be changed or enhanced. Their "Twister" is quite puny and I think it would do wonders if the twister actually moved. I know the tech behind it is more advanced than I make it out to be but still...would be cool.

Twister is beyond dated... I am I do not think "upgrading" it would really do it any good. I think you either leave it or get rid of it. not worth wasting money on upgrading an attraction that has been there for almost 14 years.

Really now? What about Earthquake/Disaster? That ride is still relevant and yet its been the same ride system since the opening. If youre going that route then for all the people who say ET should stay and be refurbished are wrong. Now granted I like ET and Twister but I think theres better options for ET. I like Twister because its different and gives a unique experience. Update the effects and maybe change it up a little and with some advertisement it'll be fine.
