Sounds like somebody at Disney was probably feeding him some spin. They don't want to admit the project is cancelled (because admitting something like that reflects poorly on their decision-making), so they tell Jim that it's indefinitely pushed back and is coming sometime. Which is actually hard to outright disprove, so they avoid having to say, "We made a mistake announcing this."
