Just a heads up. I just completed a survey from universal regarding transportation to a "hypothetical" waterpark that was easy walking distance (5mins) from I drive hotels or long walking distance (15 mins+) from onsite hotels. It discussed a large number of different options. Things like: themed buses (Zombies, Magic school bus and Island theme were a few), open air buses (with non-upolstered seats for wet clothing), costs involved in any of these options, buses that made lots of stops compared to direct routes, entertainment on buses (TVs I think), driving to the parking garage and busing over to the waterpark.

Ask away if you have any more questions and I'll tell you what I remember.

So, does this mean Universal is just marketing Wet and Wild more heavily, OR could we see a major/minor rehab at Wet and Wild and a rebrand as an "official" Universal waterpark.

Sorry if anyone else posted about this but I didn't see anything yet.

Sounds like Universal is really deep into the details of the logistics of this thing. Very exciting.

Wet and Wild is real close to new hotel going up .There is only a couple of plots of land between them (and Interstate 4)
But they could tie them into existing infrastructure with some kind of transport, Gondolas, monorail ,suspended train, buses

What if they just buy out the rest of the giant block that they just bought some of? (Rodeway Inn, Best Western Main Gate, etc.).

That's what I have been hoping for. I4, Turnpike, Major, Kirkman. Buy it all. Doubletree is the only one that they would have to negotiate with for a new location.

So, just stating the obvious, they're looking to make a much more appealing water park for their guests. Wet'N'Wild is already their water park, and they already provide transportation to it. If they weren't looking for a new park, they wouldn't have called it a "hypothetical" and would have flat out asked about Wet'n'Wild

Well if they ever wanted to make a new water park, they can build it on the Wet and Wild parking lot across I-Drive, build new parking garages around the area, and replace Wet and Wild with a new resort on the lake. Sounds good to me, but we'll have to wait a while.

Is WnW's "lake" natural? It sure looks like a man made hole in the ground that could be dug out anywhere in Florida. I am not convinced there is any natural lake in Florida, only cypress swamps with gators and brain eating amoebas.

I do too. They would have to go more IOA-style I think. Maybe have a land themed to Amity, a land themed to Skull Island, a land themed to Waterworld, maybe a Lost World area if that wouldn't be too much Jurassic Park. A few places like that and the most immersive water park in the world could be on our hands.

Unfortunately I think this is irrelevant. I don't see why, if they were planning a waterpark, they would put Cabana Bay where they did (away from the water canals). Someone else said this was so they could place another luxury resort along the waterway and this makes much more sense to me.

The land still available at the end of the canal could also accommodate a water park. This would make seance that guests of the higher end hotels could take a boat ride to the water park, while guests of the value park would be able to walk across the street.
