Nintendo has put out the $450 price did not account for tariffs. I also saw some reports that one, Nintendo is likely will to see at a loss in order to install the initial user base and two, is trying to ramp up the Vietnam arm of its production chain to minimize the the number of shipments subject to tariffs.

That does not mean the price won’t go up. But it does mean Nintendo doesn’t want to increase it unless it absolutely necessary.

That story is hilarious. Headline each store will have less than 100, the source they show states stores are expecting about 100. Those are 2 very different things. Also 100 consoles per store is very encouraging. Roughly 2,000 stores in US assuming 80 per store(conserving # based on story) you are at 160,000 units just for gamestop in store. Early rumors of Nintendo trying to flood the market seems on track if this story is true.

It’s “less than” because every employee is going to hang on to one in the back.

That doesn't change the numbers each store is expected to receive. It's a story put out to get clicks and scare people. When you do the math it is actually encouraging. Don't know of a launch that has had these kinds of numbers.

So we now have a possible date that lines up with my theory of Nintendo waiting for the Mario Kart Direct. I can’t imagine Canada getting a different date from the US.

Target just leaked the new April Switch 2 pre-order date and time – but it might just be a placeholder

The new Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order date might have been leaked by Target, but there is something suspect about this time and date. Nintendo was initially scheduled to start taking pre-orders in the U.S. on April 9 before it officially announced a delay to give it time to assess the potential...

Mario Kart World really looks great from that Direct. Happy to see the missions and other things in free roam to give me something to do as a mostly solo player besides Grand Prix. Now we wait to see if there’s an update on preorders.

That direct was the biggest pile of steaming dog s*** Nintendo has put out. Eight+ minutes of previously known information, and the customization screen looks horrid. No idea what they were thinking with this.

My two cents

I really dislike the price of the games, I can do a higher cost console but even then no pack in game? Just the nickle and dimming of Nintendo right now is insane

But both one that cost this much and games are now 70-89 bucks

I'm sorry, I'm fine with paying more money when a game is like leading the way and has new things to offer

MK is more MK, the open world is bare bones to me Diddy Kong racing had a REAL single player 25 years ago....

We will see if I get one or not...but 2025 sucks. I also can't believe how many people I see defending 80 dollar games...like cool if your cool with it but I don't get when people get all defense and fight for million dollar companies to charge us more because....there is no way MK cost more to make then God of war on PS5...yet they are charging more because they can.
I would love to see this become the next Ps3...but it wont Nintendo is like Disney they can do no wrong at this point as long as the basic product plays on nostalgia

That Direct could've been an email. It really did nothing to make that $80 pill go down easier.

I honestly would have appreciated even a few tiny reveals like a couple new racers,

I'm still not sold on the Free Roam aspect without some sort of larger goal. To me, it looks a lot like the online features from other Nintendo games of late. Just kinda hanging out in an empty space with nothing to actually do. Feels a lot like Animal Crossing: New Horizons in that way. A great game bogged down by a lack of substantial content.

Everyone wants to be Fortnite but not put the work in

The reason people play fornite and hang there with friends is because you can do anything.....all they had to do is have a basic story an evil mario gang has taken over the world...go around freeing the area's from the darkness with bosses and afterwards addition challenges open int he areas you've cleared but nope nothing just go into the world and watch a video online to see where the costumes are and then never play it again

Still think they should have added forza or burnout style goals around the city and have npc drivers maybe you have random encounters and races with…. That would be 80$! lol

I get why people are upset and fully understand I’m in a unique position. I’m getting the bundle with a pro controller for nearly $100 off because of my retail discount. Don’t know how I’d feel paying full for the game lol. For me it’s completely worth it to buy in.

In other strange news…

Nintendo has now removed all reference to VRR for TV play

Nintendo has now removed all traces of VRR from the American, Japanese, Canadian, and European sites. The rollout of the removal of the text began yesterday and has since been removed.

Preorders start April 24th. The console and game prices remain unchanged, but accessories have gone up a bit with the Pro Controller costing $5 more as an example.

Very Surprised the console isn't going up

If you are going to buy it in the first year and can get one...do it day one

Not sure if I'm getting one or yet but, lets see how pre orders go first. You can always cancel even if you can't get one in June for whatever reason

There’s apparently a lot of stock already here from Vietnam. My guess is they’re going for goodwill among the most dedicated people by not raising prices until they would actually need to.
