And Avatar 2, 3 and 4 got delayed again..welp, now I wait to see if WDI pulls it again, because it'd atleast guarantee another "SEX WITH THEIR TAILS!!" for HHN26.

Whether Avatar 2 being delayed is for production reasons is debatable. The last thing Avatar wants to do is go head to head with Star Wars when the sequel eventually comes out.

Although I don't know why people keep making the long time between movies out as a bad thing. I think people will have a bit of nostalgia towards it by the time it comes out because of how long it's been, remember seeing it in theaters 3, 4 or 5 times and the movie will still do great.

Well that's guaranteed anyway, since Pandora won't be open by HHN 26. By HHN 27 though, that's another question.

Phew..because if it was the film budget..i'd question what the hell is Fox spending.

That being said, what was the original budget for this area (attractions included)? Wasn't it around the 700 million mark?

lol... that's not going to happen. Avatar's production budget was around $350M and add in Marketing and you're probably around $600M or a bit more.

If Avatar 2 makes even HALF of what Avatar did, it will make 1.35B, possibly more. I don't think anyone in their right mind could call that a flop.

Not only that, but you have to also count that Avatar seems to have a mixed reaction, especially after the Oscars of that year.

I am not saying that Avatar II makes profit, but if it doesn't make enough to reach above 800 (which would still be stellar for Fox, but not what they expected), I think we'll hear real quick that Avatar will not have a fourth film, at ALL.

And remember how last time everyone dismissed Avatar when Cameron was working on it for forever... and then Marketing came along and drummed that thing up like no one's business? Much like how Disney drummed up Star Wars? I'm sure we'll see something similar to that again.

i have no doubt ol Bob Iger and James Cameron have had open dialogue about these release dates
neither want to go head to head bad business for both

Even if the second one flops we will still most likely see the third. They are being filmed back to back with a bunch of production occurring concurrently to minimize travel expenses.

I'll go on the record and say that I believe Avatar 2 will drastically under perform at the box office. I'm not saying I want it to flop, I just think it will.

Spirit recently said late 2017, but others are saying early 2017.

Most rumors i've heard lead towards Early 2017, but i'd expect a bit later just because Disney.
