First hand? Of course not.

However, I've seen enough to make my judgement.

NRJ is probably the only thing in my mind that is less than perfect but still enjoyable

FoP is as close as one can get for perfectionism

Even rocks on a stick make since from i side the land...brings the perspective level into focus

If you've seen enough from one media event from an allegedly unfinished land then you must be very easy to please! o_O

To me this isn't 'near perfect' by any means, does that make it bad? Not at all. It's fine to have first thoughts but I'm of the belief that you can never really judge a land by photos (certainly not ones from a not yet complete experience) but that's very different from having a definitive final opinion on the whole thing. You should always wait until you've been there, done it and got the t-shirt (or in this case the Na'vi tail)! :)

That's just me though, I'm sure others think otherwise.

Look, I'm not looking to jump down your throat for an opinion; but posts like this reallly makes me wonder what your end game is posting here. It's like saying "I've seen enough of Alien Convenant to know it's going to be the best movie ever". On theme park related terms, I saw a lot of Diagon before it opened but knew I can't judge it off pics, second-hand info, and other bits of info (besides the fact of it being irresponsible as a site owner to make any broad reviews until actually seeing it first-hand.)

I just can't understand when you say something is as close to perfection without physically experiencing it. At least Epcyclo has actually had first-hand experience inside Avatar. Critiquing and speculating on what's available is different than coming right out and saying something is perfect without any first-hand experience.

The River Journey ride does seem boring but I think it's placed in the right park. What other ride has the same kind of pace within Animal Kingdom? Also, anyone can ride it, from toddler to great grandma, unlike many of the attractions at the park.

My biggest issue with the river journey is that it's one note. Once you've rounded the first turn of the ride you've seen all you need to see. While I agree that AK needs more boat/slower rides, I think the overall execution could of been thought out differently. A river journey should make me feel like I'm going somewhere, and this attraction doesn't produce that illusion.

I cannot wait until the 13th when I get to experience this all for myself. I am a fan of all new theme park additions and try to temper my expectations. Between the interesting food options and new rides, whether awesome or just fine or terrible, it's still so exciting to be able to experience something new, especially at one of my favorite parks.

And if my girlfriend would let me, I'd probably be doing it all wearing the Navi tail and ears, but I get the feeling that won't fly well with her. I'm just a big kid, and love to jump in and have a ball.

I've listened to the critiques, and I agree with some of them, others are blatantly hypocritical.

Epcyclopedia never has anything positive to say about the expansion. I find it extremely curious that they have decided to stick around. If I were in they're position, I would've completely lost interest in this thread a long time ago. Nonetheless...

The lengths of the nitpicking in this thread is astounding. Oh the horror of selling baby Na'vi dolls! The plants look artificial! How dare they use blacklights! It never stops.

I find the expansion to be mighty impressive, and based on the extensive videos, has breached my highest expectations. The boat ride is stunning, and though slow, it is exactly what DAK needed. The environment is gorgeous, and has obviously tremendous scale. The queue for FoP looks to be in a league of its own. The ride has stellar reviews from deep skeptics. The food looks delicious and has also had great reviews. If when I visit, I find something flawed, I'll let y'all know.

I try to bring a more positive viewpoint to the thread and I get derided for having a faulty opinion. Others, whose opinions are negative have no more, or less credibility than mine, yet are praised for contributing. I don't understand it.

Wow, this was a lot of crap to read through!

I have to say I think things look impressive from these reports, however I also have to remember that these bloggers who were chosen to give Disney free publicity get treated to so much free stuff from Disney all the time that I have to take anything they say that's absolutely glowing (no pun intended) with a small grain of salt. You give anyone free food, free hotel rooms and free admission before the rest of the world and they are bound to say nice things about you.

Yes, the attractions look fantastic in many ways, but they should with the time and money spent on them.

I also happen to know that the capacity for both attractions is relatively low and while the animatronic is amazing, it is the only one, so it should be since they're blowing their whole wad on one thing. And, there will be no "disco navi" because it will simply be pulled behind the scenes when (not if) it stops working, meaning the payoff for the whole thing could be missing for some riders. As far as I know the second "swap out" is not ready (and may have even been cancelled).

To be fair, Epcylco pretty much runs that same tone through everything, not just Avatar... and it's not your positive outlook, it's just the way some of your thoughts and opinions carry? If that makes sense. Hell, twebber has been absolutely positive about this land with little negative to say and I'm not wondering what his motives are.

I think I'm out of this thread. Too much negativity and for the first time in too long, I think this is something that I really want to go into blind to experience.

Have fun ya'll!
