They can’t call it Hollywood Drift because 1) the queue/station isn’t in Hollywood and 2) they have to differentiate it from Hollywood’s ride. They’re very unlikely to name it with an association to Florida or Orlando because nothing in the park has a direct association to Florida/Orlando other than the park name…

Now… if the queue/station was accessible from CityWalk, then yeah… I could see it getting a Florida name. But based on what we know? It’s NY Drift.

See my counter to this, is actually a simple one.

With where the coaster is going to be positioned, it's going to be separated and isolated (or rather--it should be) from the mainline New York area. Additionally, had they of had trademarks already prepared for Fast & Furious: New York Drift, they would've come out of the woodwork by right now.

Additionally--I think they might opt to use the Hollywood Drift name, in the terms of "branding" synergy with not just the Universal Studio Hollywood version of the coaster--but hypothetically...a Beijing version, of the ride concept. Having that element of consistency, would actively make sense for a ride that will be sharing similar elements and the similar experiences for once your in the vehicles (even if, the layouts for all three are different).

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift for USH, seems to be a return to form for the sake of returning to the old school edutainment method of Universal. And I suspect they're actually going to keep it consistent.

___

Pivoting, but track is now on site! Track seems to be in two separate colors--with the station/maintenance area going to be a silver-grey color, with the main track being blue.

That is indeed a dumb name with it being in New York, but nevertheless I'm lookin' forward to the coaster and what layout this version will have.

That's a very silly choice, but at least Supercharged is mostly dead. I can live with this.

I wonder if we get concept today or just the name and 2027 with a picture of the front of Dom's Charger?

My guess is name, opening timeframe (summer 2027), and one piece of art beyond a logo.

Today’s announcement, probably:

But hey, if they’re really ambitious they might not even need to cross out 2026 and can just use the USH teaser logo as is lol.
