It just got a pretty extensive overhaul just like 2 years back or so

Not for many years, if at all. Like we said, they just gave all the existing effects and AAs an overhaul like 2-3 years back. Asking for a new story line and effects/AAs is essentially asking for all but the ride system to change.

Didn't we just go through that whole new story line argument while Mummy was undergoing that long renovation a couple years ago.
Well, Cup of Coffee is still there. Nothing is going to change.

The Mummy 4 is now officially official! I think this just secured the longevity for the ride (and possibly an update when the film releases?).

Love to see some new AAs on the level of the Monsters Unchained ones if I can make a request. No need to touch the filmed bits besides some color correction and replacing the TVs.

Fully agree. Upgrade both Imhoteps to Unchained-level animatronics, give the static figures their weapons back, update the footage to 4K, and you're good to go.
