SeaWorld Hotel Lanyard/Animal Encounter?

I'm staying at an official sea world hotel and read we will receive a lanyard for seaworld so we get better seating and stuff. My question is - is that lanyard a good one for us to take and use at Universal Studios or do we need to buy different ones?

As a gold annual pass member it says I get a free dolphin encounter can I use that for my son to do it or am I the only one that can do it? if so I'll just pass on it.
